Schwarzes Hörndl is 3100 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 9 km west from the center of Innergschlöß and 11 km west from the center of Außergschlöß. The nearest mountain hut is Kürsingerhütte, located 3km west-southwest. A little further is Goldschmiedhütte. 1.1 km northeast from the summit there is glacier Untersulzbachkees, 4 km east-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Nördliches Viltragenkees. East of the summit is the valley Gschlößtal.
