The peak is located 1.3 km north-northeast of peak Sandling and west-severowest above the mountain pasture Ausseer Sandlingalm. The nearest mountain hut is Lambacher Hütte, located 1.9km southwest. bivouac Lupitsch Ort is also relatively close. 6 km east-southeast of the peak there is lake Altausseer See.
