Given the remoteness it's no wonder there's no post on the forum. It's really not close, right at the end of Montenegro are the Prokletije, on the border with Kosovo and Albania, little known, little visited, but beautiful mountains. Although the highest were hiding in clouds and mists all the time and chasing us to the valley, they've inscribed themselves in a piece of the soul. Wild ones with heights over 2000m, with Montenegro's highest peak Zla Kolata (Evil Pastures somehow in translation) 2534m. Peak names starting with Maja (peak, e.g. Maja Jezerce, highest in Prokletije), mysterious valley names: Ropojana, Valbona, hundreds of mountain eyes, as they call the lakes, friendly people and guide, enthusiast for everything happening here. We stayed in Plav town by Plav Lake, excellent starting point for local tours. We climbed Popadija and Talijanka, two neighboring grassy two-thousanders, ascended Hridski Krš (2340m) past Hridsko Lake (over 2000), but the weather didn't let us reach Zla Kolata. Paths are well marked, starting points Plav, Gusinje and Vusanje. By the way we learned about the most beautiful Balkan trek called Peaks of the Balkans. Map is at home, definitely places I want to return to.

When I spotted Banjšice in the PD Medvode program, I realized I skipped geography that day, and probably some other subject too.zadrega True though, even Uncle Google ain't chatty on this topic. So had to go check with hikers (35 of us). If names Lohke, Sleme, Kuk, Zgorelec, Veternik, Podlešče, Lužarji... mean anything to you, then you've been here or you're from there. No others. They hid these Banjšice somewhere behind Trnovo plateau and under Sveta gora above Nova Gorica. Plateau world, up and down almost 14 km (and we skipped another 6). Admit, without PD never would have been here. Whoever wants to go, through Nova Gorica to Solkan, turn at signs to Sv. Gora, then follow Banjšice signs. Right after yellow Banjšice board is Lohke sign, left parking. Here perpendicularly uphill to first track then left. Good luck finding markers. Path is marked but needs feel, markers rare (more wooden signs with peak names).

Congratulations to both for the idea and the hiked path, and big thanks for the description of the whole path with lots of necessary info and impressions. Read and viewed with interest. I like descriptions that show the path and info pours from yours, yet not dry and not boastful. Something like guidelines for writing forum posts. nasmehvelik nasmeh Really bravo and keep doing such paths long and take us with you. Thanks.

All clear.

No. The stream was also dry, but that's a temporary drought issue.

Immediately in attack mode for argument? What was different? The path to Ponca checked and repaired multiple times every year, never buried in trees; Protections, even to Velika Ponca upright and not lying down. Hut in Tamar open before 8. As for sleeping in huts, every year I sleep in at least one and it's not unrest everywhere until two in the morning, partying and bad sleep. Maybe some hut really needs to be dropped if possible, otherwise general statements do injustice to all those who try.

As long as the Tamar Hut and the path to Ponca were managed by PD Medvode, both were impeccably maintained. Denationalization did what it did.

Part of the damage is already cleared, but the part above Šija still has blowdown. Need to go over it (few trees), look for the path to the left side. Not yet trodden enough to be obvious. No other peculiarities, that fallen gully still requires attention. And it's steeper every year...

The name of the path from picture 2 (previous post) has changed. Now it's Sentiero "Palis d'Arint", the sign is different, the paths around here are still nice.

Super! But this year Prokletije made up for us with 10 days of sun in Albania. Also worth every step and again a guide who led with heart.

The path is passable without issues.
