Today I was on Jalovec from Tamar via the path over Kotovo sedlo. From the saddle to the summit there are snow patches in quite a few places. Until 10am it's mostly frozen, then the sun comes around the corner and softens. Before the first fixed cable there's a gully with frozen snow all day - about 15m, can't bypass it. So winter gear is almost essential, on that first frozen snow patch I used crampons too, elsewhere the ice axe came in handy. Otherwise wonderful tour, view superb, warm enough that I went from Tamar to the top and back in short sleeves. If anyone's heading up - happy trails.

Well, I don't know that, I believe Tinetu, but it really wasn't gloomy, sunshine and snow - excellent combination and we chatted the whole way - bear rather moves away from people...
