For the first time I would also recommend the path over Škarjev rob for both directions. On this path the difficulty increases nicely towards the top and there is also the option to turn back if it gets too hard. A helmet is highly recommended though - 3 weeks ago it might have even saved a hiker's life (falling rock). With lots of visitors, especially on weekends, there is quite a bit of this rockfall ...

What about further from that parking lot at the hut towards Jermanca? Have they also put up those signs in the forest at the junction 300m further (like e.g. under Storžič, where the info posts by the roads are almost overgrown with grass)?

On the path to Srednji vrh

Conditions 20.6.2021 - if useful to anyone:
snow at three "classic" spots where it lasts longest, but no issues when crossing - first snowfield at entrance to žrelo - bypass on right, at second snowfield go behind snow, at third few steps on snow, then to left.

Path from Bašelj along SW ridge almost entirely bare - step on snow only for a couple of meters at flat and completely non-problematic spot between little Storžič and path junction from SW gully.
This is the status today (28.5.). For path from Kališče two girls said just a couple of non-problematic snow patches. Over Škarjev rob you'll need to wait another month for fully bare path.

My view won't please you either .
In the morning most think it's awesome to deliberately drive past the no-entry sign and "bomb" us non-drivers to car-accessible spots with gravel dust. Often get away without a fine, sometimes not. But don't play victims then. .
When we get fines in KB on sections before that sign, that'll be a real crisis .

Hribolaznik wrote well. Some stick to these myths and suffer with heavy high boots. It's true, low boots won't last 15 years, but with intensive walking maybe 3-4 months, but it's worth it. Insisting on boots that cause problems and waiting to get used to the pain is real stupidity, and cutting socks and padding .
dprapr gave a solution for such a pair.
I put on the boots, after e.g. 10 hours take them off, during the tour don't fuss with them. When worn out, buy new ones
Don't fear trying dedicated low hiking boots or mountain running shoes. You'll be surprised and regret why you didn't start using them earlier. These are my experiences - so no one jumps up in the air
