This is how it was on Krim today. Winter idyll...

I was up there yesterday. Up via Žirovnica, down via Zabreška path. Snow starts at 1400m. Continuous track from 1600m. Took automatic crampons, because last time exactly one year ago, didn't want to risk with microspikes. But microspikes perfect choice now. Can reach summit also without, but still worth having at least microspikes, shame to risk slip and ruin the day. Snow unconsolidated, like concrete only on south slopes, and even there mostly collapses. The track itself ok, not like highway as now to Viševnik. To Valvasor hut muddy. Snow despite unusually high temps dry / crusty. Gaiters recommended.

I was up there today. 3 weeks ago still proper winter. To the top and back without crampons or ice axe. Some snow still around Snežna kota and at the start of Mali Triglav. Traverse and all the way to the top bare. Lowest temp +6°C. It blew hard at night, calmed after sunrise. Only annoying thing is ice patches along the whole length from where snow starts to the top, luckily easy to cross. Weather today not great, more misty. Extremely few people. Total about 15. Road to Krma nicely arranged too.

That's how it was today. When I was coming down they asked me if you can get to the top without crampons. Yes. Just the last slope to the top still has some patches, otherwise the whole path is dry, even below the hut. It cleared extremely fast. On 16.4.22 I took mini crampons I was sure I'd need, and automatics just in case. Didn't need either, and it was much more wintry than today (well... today not winter at all). Lowest temperature -3 no wind. For this time very nice. Just no heat yet... Nice regards to all.

I just came from Grintovec. Today the plaque isn't visible because snow covered it. I was at the top when those from the last pics (magistar). Then I saw the plaque sideways.
On 26 March it was still whole. I doubt vandalism ... I hope ... Probably some heavy category stepped on the edge.

Three hours ago I came back from Grintovec. Below there is still a sign prohibiting access to the cable car (I think we all ignored it). Road to cable car still okay (road was much worse before). 100m before bench at 1250m put on crampons, not before, because there are several dry patches. Weather not great, no strong wind either, but snowing all the time. Wind mixes powder in the air all the time, recommend ski goggles (very useful to me). Quite sharp cold, -17 below summit. At hut -10. About 5-10 cm fresh blown snow on path. Steepest under Cojzova hut. For descent thought ridge, but snow not great (very crusty, no proper grip with ice axe). Sunday forecast slightly worse and equally cold. Saw one below hut with mini crampons. I've gone up many times with mini crampons, but this time no without 12 points. Sunrise not best either... A couple hours ago I got back from Viševnik. Last week Wednesday it was -13 on top and windy. Barely tracked. Mostly ski tourers go up. Today it was really great. No wind, +1, perfectly tracked to the top. Crampons useful (nothing icy). Snow still very dry. From last week settled 10-15 cm. On tracked path nothing sinks, off-trail to knees (last week to waist). Great weather till end of week, just take advantage ...

Ok, agreed, didn't know a bomb had to drop on me right away. Noticed that whenever someone writes something on this portal someone always has to bomb them ...

That Sunday the sun was very strong. When the sunrise was, the minus wasn't felt anymore. The snow softened faster than usual. Sometimes I was at the top at 9:30 to 10:30, and it was still all ok. Now if you weren't up there for the sunrise, it was already too late ...

I was up there Sunday 7.3.21. This week another 40cm of snow expected. On flat parts probably problem, could sink, where steep maybe blown away. People going up like crazy. Sure it's already trodden. When I went up, to Kredarica it was like highway. One side trodden, next to it ski tourers. About 20 of us at summit. To Kredarica later at least 100 ski tourers, more probably ... Only advice if going to top is go as early as possible, because snow melted very quickly. Right on return to Kredarica, crossing from Mali Triglav already tricky. Just before Kredarica another one wanted to go up, turned back ... Important to know, as written before, start walking as soon as macadam starts. Parking fee not much (park on road). From start of macadam to end of parking (in Krma) a bit over 5km (1h 10min normal walk). If sinking from start, I think I wouldn't make it to top. 2 weeks ago excellent path, still very beat. Cold persists. Already -9 below. Gaiters very welcome before, now even more ... This from 2 weeks ago, could have changed a lot by now.

Snow on the ridge is as much as usual. Couloir at top of ridge no problem.

To the cable car by car no problem (no ice). Already at 1000m asl first avalanches are visible. Don't remember when so much broken trees as this winter. Through the whole little forest to hut almost always walking on avalanche, because no path (buried in snow). There's a huge amount of snow. Couloirs surprisingly not large. Up via classic path over roof (without ice axe you can't go, too much snow). Down via ridge over long walls (very well trodden). Made an effort and uploaded some pics for better idea how it looks.

True, too early an hour doesn't appeal to me much either .... got up at 2:00. Since Saturday wasn't a workday it was easy to get up, otherwise it can be tiring ... Lights really weren't yours, as they were just before dawn over horse saddle ...
