I'd like to dedicate the lockdown time in the next month or two to some tour up to around 2000m asl. I don't have much experience with winter hiking above 1500m (in summer I easily summit our highest peaks). I bought crampons and 2 ice axes, but haven't used them yet . I've already explored all the nearby hills lengthwise and crosswise during this time, so I'd like to venture on some new path . I'm from MB (not regionally limited).

I'd prefer it's not too short and takes at least 2h+ one way, only condition is that it's not technically demanding - no difficult exposed passages and vertical walls.

So far they've suggested Raduha from Loka, Debela peč, Viševnik, Peca.. What do you think?

Has anyone been to Crna Prst recently? What are the conditions?

I too was yesterday first time on Stol, start from Koroška Bela. Late morning new snow unpleasantly southern, just on the edge that below 1800m would need crampons. Some parts to summit also icy, gusts of wind well covered made tracks, esp. below summit.

View sadly somewhat impaired, wind so strong we stayed on top only about 15 min, and even then almost frostbite on hands .

Just to update everything a bit . In the last 3 months I've focused mainly on mid-mountains and at least on my paths needed ice axe and crampons only on Stenar .

Been to Peca from Crna, Uršlja gora, Smrekovec, Javorca, Boskovec, Smrekovec- Krnes - Komen - Veliki Travnik from Bela Voda (35km trail ), Lepenatka, Kranjska reber, Okrešelj... Anyway on Stenar had to turn back a bit below summit due to conditions .

This weekend planning Viševnik and later during week also Raduha .

I'm also interested in the conditions over the weekend. I assume the summit might be icy and crampons and ice axe will be needed? Thanks

I don't expect to transform into Lara Croft overnight . The 2nd ice axe is for my brother, with whom we often go to the hills/mountains together. I can lend it if needed sometime.

Lower peaks also come into consideration, the up to 2000m is more so that no one sends me a one-way ticket to Mrzla gora .
