29.5.202 St. Juraj
On a beautiful sunny morning we drive to the cemetery - Pag town. Here we park, where the road to the ridge begins (north above the town). On the ridge there are four windmills and a transmitter. The road is initially macadam; when the slope begins, it is concrete to the top.
In 45 min (slow walking) we are on the ridge. Bora pulls strongly and we don't stay long.
Following blue markers we continue along the ridge towards the west. The path is quite demanding due to stones; you must watch every step. We climb to the highest peak 205m (St. Juraj), where there are remains of an object and ancient history. We continue to the observation post overlooking Paška vrata, towards Slana bay and Malin beach.
The view enchants us!!
The path continues to the end of the cape - lighthouse; we decide for descent.
We descend our own way to the road which brings us back to Pag town (for a beer).

10.3.2023 Renke
In a foggy morning at +4C we park by the main road in Renke. We start on the path leading to Ostrež which is marked. But we don't turn right but continue on the road to Konjšica. The higher we are, the more sun. From afar we spot the northern ridge up which we intend to climb to Kumat. We walk on asphalt until we reach the place where the ridge drops to the road. A steep ascent into the slope follows and soon we are in the rock. Steep. Difficulty does not exceed I.
We reach the top of Kumat and continue on the nice ridge. No more snow. Then the ridge starts to descend and we reach a nicely arranged path. It leads us back under the ridge and above the ruins below us which remind us of a quarry. Then down the ridge towards the village Konjšica. In between a viewpoint with logbook and nice view of the village - unmarked!!!
Here we take time for snack and sit in the sun. Meanwhile we catch some ticks!!
We descend to the village and on the asphalted road towards Ostrež. Below Ostrež we turn towards the ridge leading to the chapel of St. Catherine. Here a storm catches us lasting approx. 20min. We reach the marked path leading to Ostrež and continue on it. At the chapel we rest a couple minutes and continue to the ridge. Sun peeks from behind clouds; only SW is quite strong on the summit ridge. Path leads us above sheer walls descending towards the Sava gorge, Renke. Nice views.
Walked approx. 7 hours. No more snow. Of which the marked Ostrež ridge and path back to Renke. The rest unmarked.

6.10.2026 Osoršćica
At 9 in the morning we started from resort Bučani. We turn towards Podgora and face the first markings. Cirrus clouds in the sky and the day pleasant for walking. The initial ascent is not demanding either. The most beautiful part begins when we reach Počivalica and the views open up. The path becomes a bit more demanding (more need to watch under the feet), otherwise no problems to Sv. Mikula.
Here we open beer cans that we carry with us and treat ourselves to photographing. The mood is good, if you meet someone it's a Slovenian. We continue towards the transmitters and from here on we didn't meet anyone anymore. At Televrina we don't stay too long, as there is quite a bit of walking to Planinarskog doma. On the way we look towards Križica and the hut is already quite close. We are the only guests and the caretaker is happy, as he already suspected he would sell some beer. Beer cold, price 3.5 euros and we destroyed 12 cans. Besides we properly replenished with food we carried with us.
For the descent we decide via V.Tržić. The path is nicely marked and we had no problems on the way. The marker was very inventive
When we arrive at the abandoned houses we are all shocked. We look at half-ruined mighty buildings, next to stone auxiliary objects and stones stacked into walls that protected livestock, crops and inhabitants. Thoughts rush to thinking how life once went here? We walk under laurel trees emitting their characteristic smell - magical.
(The first inhabitants are said to have settled here already in the bronze age. Due to its remote and picturesque location between hills they often call it »lošinjski Machu Picchu«.)
On a narrow path between stone walls we were soon at the church of Sv. Benedikt, where the way of the cross ends. Another half hour and we are already drinking beer in the center of Nerezin at Mornar. Total approx. 19km and 8 hours 30 min. It could have been earlier, only we weren't in a hurry anywhere that day!

27.9.2026 Lučka kopa ( written addition to the above video by ZOKI )
When Zoki invites me to this mountain I don't think too much. Sundays I usually spend at home, with a good Sunday lunch. This mountain is worth this sacrifice and instead of a hearty lunch: pâté, hard-boiled egg
The ascent from Bela is steep, under the shoes the stones, dwarf pines, branches etc. slide. We climbed at my own pace so I wouldn't get exhausted to the top of the steep part and still have energy for the final climb of the summit ridge. In between there is a rock step to climb, which apart from being crumbly and with loose stones is not too hard.
On the exit ledge ( between Konj and the kopa ) I arrive sweaty, full of needles and with some energy reserve left. So the climbing along the ridge is more a pleasure than a problem and I successfully reach the last summit along the ridge, which is quite narrow in places. The return is the same way and if someone sees a problem with the ascent, better think twice, because going back will be even harder for him
Now the marked path towards Korošica awaits us. The sun warms the dwarf pines along the path, the ascent has no end or place. Here I am already a bit worn out. I was immensely happy about the spring along the path, refresh myself for the continuation of the ascent. Finally we branch off towards Stare štale. In between we miss the turnoff. We circle a bit through labyrinths carved into the "dwarf pine forest". We find a wonderful passage, we exchange glances with a lone chamois who lets us know we are disturbing in his world. Along the lower path we reach Stare Štale ( it is very untrodden ). We descend along the marked path to the turnoff for Grofov štant and visit a nice window. We don't feel like going back to the marked path and continue towards Grofov štant to the abandoned lookout. Here we manage to find a hunter's connection that takes us along wonderful passages past overhanging walls and gullies. All good things come to an end. We reach a large landslide. It took away a large part of the hill and with it part of the path. We search a bit, but not for long. We manage to find the continuation to the marked path. From here it's just the classic to the starting point. We refresh at Žegnani studenec and after 8 hours 30 min our story is finished.
Most of everything we walked is demanding off-trail terrain that requires experience moving on such ground.
The beginning of the marked path, which was described as difficult due to windthrow, does not present problems if you stick to the trodden path.

14.8.2026 Krofička
Today with my son to Krofička. Son last walked the ridge and stood on top of Krofička 18 years ago. High time for a repeat.
We climbed to the top from Dom planincev past Klemenčeva jama. Water at the trough only in drops. To the top no special features. After a short rest on top we set off along the ridge towards Travnik. There we treat ourselves to a somewhat longer rest. Two hikers pass by who climbed via Črni hribar. We continue along the ridge and in the dwarf pines we look for the descent gully to the hunting path. Along it back to the marked path that leads to Krofička. At Klemenča we don't stop but descend into the heat of the valley. We look for refreshment in the Savinja at Igla (the watch showed +15C). Refreshment for the soul then in the buffet with mugs of Laško.

Fot.2 is that ridge and we found it. The cairns are at the end of the steep section when you reach the ledge. We didn't place them before because we didn't know where and how we would get out?

If there were no hikers' camp in the valley, few would wander these parts. With marmots this year I did not have such luck to see them as close as last year. Water flows more in drops, but the consequences of the storms are visible, when everything rushes along the banks.

22.7.2026 Lučka Bela, Brežiči, Stare štale
Both of us immediately had the same idea - to find a path from the valley of Lučka Bela to the hunting hut Brežiči.
How to carry it out? Each his own idea, which we then unified after a joint agreement. This unification and joint work rewarded us with a nice joint tour, which we carried out in "0". Without any special orientation, technical difficulties we came directly in front of the hunting hut.
There we treated ourselves to a modest snack and under Lastovec we continued to Stare štale. The marmots had their midday rest and we only spotted one, which quickly hid in its burrow. We refreshed ourselves with cold water and then followed a descent on the marked path into the valley of Lučka Bela, where we had left the car. The windthrow in the lower part is partially cleared and there are no more special problems due to fallen trees. The next refreshment was at Žegnan studenec, which despite the precipitation in recent days works rather poorly. But there is more than enough drinking water. The hidden Heineken, which cooled for seven hours in cold water, I give to the tractor driver who was hauling fallen trunks to the road - our parked car was a bit in his way. The guy gladly accepted the cold beer as our apology, and we in good spirits due to the successful completed tour to Luče for refreshment. ( at Gams it is closed on Wednesdays )

Congratulations that you succeeded so nicely on the first try through all the orientation loops. Does the spring in the gully still work?

10.7.2026 Obir (Zlatko&Zoki)
In the morning parked a bit away from Freibacher lake. Along a nice forest path (in the shade) to Jagovčevo saddle 1686m. While snacking at the shepherd huts we eye the wall awaiting us. The path to the summit is not secured but marked (excessively) with spray and it reminds me of home mountains. Where climbing is needed it does not exceed grade I. We had no problems reaching the top and no excessive exposure - but caution is required!!!
A few visitors at the top, we don't stay long.
We continue along the ridge towards Kravlji vrh 2026m and search for the turnoff to the hunting path. At first we find remains of an arrow and red inscription on the rock, but everything is so worn that we can't tell where it leads? Then we manage to find cut bushes and happily set off along the apparent path. But soon everything is lost to us. We search, fight with the bushes and finally only contact by phone. Finally we manage to find barely recognizable and faded inscriptions on the rock. The path is more visible and we happily follow it. When we reach a junction we realize one branch leads back towards Jagovčeva planina, one to the scree and more in the direction of our arrival. We choose the latter and begin the descent along the steep scree. We turn the scree into a debris slide and barely save ourselves from being carried down the steep scree. The ordeal begins: sun, scree, dust, stones and every step must be well placed so it doesn't end in a slip. After more than an hour of such descent we crawl to the hunting observation post. All exhausted we rejoice at the shade of the forest, normal path and a little later contact with the path we ascended to the saddle in the morning.
After cooling with cold water we already forget all the suffering. Later we also treat ourselves to a stop in a pleasant inn before Železna Kapla and swimming in Savinja near Igla is already all badly forgotten and only beautiful memories remain...

2.6.2026
In the morning we park under Rogar farm. Along the road to Strevc tourist farm. Behind the farm towards Olševa. Across the clearcut where there once was a nice spruce forest we climb the hill. The blame for the devastation and degradation of the terrain lies with storm disasters, of which there are more and more. I won't wait for the forest to return as it was.
In the remaining forest there are still many fallen trees lying across the path. But no problems crossing if you're a bit more agile. At the windows we linger a bit, take photos and head up the steep slope towards Obel kamen. Along the way I visit the cave where I found (13.6.2009) a wooden trough for catching water dripping in the cave. The trough still exists, quite worn by the tooth of time. At Obel kamen we rest a bit after quite a steep climb, which was additionally muddy and slippery in the last part. We continue along the ridge to Govce. Along the lower path back towards Potočka zijalka. We don't stop too long and continue the descent to the starting point under Rogar farm.
Here we decide to also do Strevčeva peč and again back towards the church. Past the church through the forest and up the steep Strevčeva peč. At the top we are properly sweaty from the steepness and sun. We take some shots and head for a cold beer at Strevčeva tourist farm. We really earned it!

I'll chime in since it's already mentioned.
That mountain you're asking about is Križevnik with Turnca (rocky peak before the ridge).
That trail is a hunting path which in some places is more demanding than the ascent to Raduha from Račka vrata. At least back then when Janez and I walked there it was. Hunters later repaired it though and maybe it's easier now?
The photo I'm attaching marks the section where you need to climb onto a rock ledge and then along a very narrow ledge above the abyss around the peak. For me the descent afterwards was much more demanding though, more than that ledge.
You reached Ovčja pot in the final part of the route and there's still a nice section from there back towards the marked trail for Raduha. That part is also more demanding than the one you walked.
From Reberski stan a hunting trail leads and joins the marked one for Grohat. There are quite a few orientation loops here though.

Stanp, this waterfall is completely outside marked paths. I descended through quite demanding off-trail areas and in between used parts of forest paths. As much as I noticed that somewhere it would go directly down, I tried. Mostly it was quite strenuous, very steep. Sometimes it was also necessary to turn back. The hardest for me was finding a descent from the sheer cliffs to which a barely visible path led me. It was trodden by rare visitors and connoisseurs of this terrain (viewpoint). Forest roads kept me more at the same height and walking on them I did not lose any notable elevation. But along the way I discovered many new things. What surprised me the most was the viewpoint on Repeljska dolina. It is right by the road, if you are not paying attention you can pass by and not notice it at all.

22.5.2026 Smrekovško pogorje
Jovan, you're right! I noticed when I crossed Krnes that it wouldn't work out (time-wise). Also at the end of the path, when I had walked almost 24km, it showed strongly in my lower limbs. And my wife and I were invited to RD at 18:00, I got home a bit after 16:00 (without stopping for beer on the way home).
At 7 in the morning I parked by the bridge when driving into Rastke. I left the car here because I planned the descent from Stari stanovi (Golte). How I would descend the last part to Rastke was still a puzzle?
Everything up to Komna went without any noteworthy problems. When I crossed Krnes summit I started thinking differently. In a moment I decided and descended to the hunting hut. How I would get into the valley I didn't know at all? No markings so I relied on feeling. A couple of times I turned back because I came above sheer walls and couldn't go down. I found a nice passage and crossed a steep gully. Then down by feeling. It went quite OK and I didn't get into bigger troubles. Snow patches melted quickly due to the steepness. When I reached the road to Smrekovec the only thing bothering me was 2km of asphalt and partly macadam to the starting point. I saw no human soul in 9 hours, not even in Rastke.
Walked 23.6km in 8 hours and 45 min.

The path you thought of is OK. I don't know about the cemetery next to the hospital, even though I've passed by here many times? There are many waterfalls here, because there are more tributaries than elsewhere. The waterfalls are a few meters high. It depends on how strong the water inflow is, so they look like that. There is also one waterfall to the left of the hospital.
I have planned for tomorrow to go to these areas after a long time. I have planned to park in Rastke and then on the path you planned for the return, towards Travnik. From Travnik to Komen, Krnes, Smrekovec, Golte and then descent back to Rastke.
