I just don't get why so much writing and talk about changing the hutkeeper in one hut, since changes happen constantly in most huts in SLO.
The owner always decides who to contract with, not petitions and guests. Same in the valley for hotels, camps or local pubs, no reason for mountains to be different. Saying the hutkeeper and partner being unemployed is a problem is complete nonsense, by that logic no one could be fired. With his references he'll likely get another quickly.
And so no one thinks it's a grudge. Always felt good at Valvasor Hut and don't see reason for change myself nor know one.

No special features. A little below the summit of Kriška there are about 50 m of little snow on the path, but it doesn't affect ascent or descent.

Superbly written, I was taken right back about three years ago when I hiked part of your route.

And also about Kilimanjaro and similar higher locations. Fitness itself doesn't have much connection with altitude sickness or it can even be an obstacle, because you climb too fast and there's no time for acclimatization. That's exactly why there were fatalities, not only among ordinary hikers or trekkers but also among top alpinists. And here is the main problem why some turn back or get taken away, and not in the ascent difficulty.

I don't quite understand what the problem is or what interests primož. Anyway joy of mountains in children isn't connected to heights, speed of approach..., about which primož has written years ago and constantly added kids' ages and timelines. My sons a bit over 10 and a bit under 10 are completely satisfied with some shorter ascent and then deserved barley soup or similar at the hut, although on bigger ones even ascent to Triglav doesn't present a problem where he'd be out of breath.
But everyone best knows his own children and finds solutions. Maybe primož do some family outing just to Dobrča, Kriška gora or similar, tell jokes on the way, go slowly and observe surroundings and maybe Žan will feel like it again.

This morning there were no tracks yet. Also from the summit towards Kriški Tolsti it does not look trodden. Plus, strong wind is making drifts.

Today quite different. Wind so everything flies through the air, approx. -16 degrees at summit. And no big crowds, or precisely I met no one.

I too usually feel in Tamar that they'd rather have only wardens in the hut. Not saying service isn't correct, but too often there's some comment or just mimicry that's unnecessary.

A few years ago there was a nicely marked circular path Podnart - Češnjica - Jamnik - Rovte - Podnart. Now the marks have faded a bit and some trees have been felled, but the path can still be found.
But start at the end of Češnjica village and go left.

There is almost no hut that is accessible also in winter (mid-mountains) that wouldn't organize New Year's Eve too. Every year they organize New Year's Eve at Dobrča, Kriški Roblek, Komna, Koča pod Bogatinom,... Best to just inquire at some mountaineering club that has a hut up to about 1500 m.

You had real special "luck". When I wandered around there in summer so many chamois I barely got through. When I thought end of animals a marmot ran almost over my feet. Really crazy.
Been many times in area, but never so many critters. Was really first that day.

As Vahta wrote in one of the topics it would be good to stick to the topic. But the forum is increasingly leaning towards self-praise and settling scores with those who think differently. Igor's route descriptions and his knowledge of the mountains are really great, but that doesn't give him the right to behave condescendingly towards others on this forum (this is evident from some of his posts where he doesn't answer the question but gives some unnecessary comment). Also Turbot's comments in this topic are not needed (otherwise he has good and noteworthy remarks). If someone likes to celebrate in a hut let him do it and no need to immediately belittle him and label him a drunkard...
And to stick to the topic so I don't contradict the above myself. Almost all huts that are open in winter also on weekends prepare New Year's Eve celebrations. The question is if they don't already have reservations. You can go up alone too since if you're not sulky you'll quickly find company. So phone in hand and inquire in specific huts. As already described: Komna, Koča pod Bogatinom, Dobrča, Kofce, Kriška gora,...
And don't misunderstand me. I also gladly read every good description and listen to every constructive comment.

Completely unnecessary comments. Unfortunately you can't get rid of impatient people anywhere.
What bothers me though, heinz, that you answer on behalf of Slovenian hikers, since most know conditions on Stol and if you don't know write only for yourself.
I don't understand why heinz and similar never react to questions in English.
Regarding flags I really don't understand. So Slovenian hikers don't understand flags...
