Conclusion "at firerju"?
I just read that in the White House (or somewhere in America) they threw someone from an important position because he tweeted a Nazi salute. Will the same happen to Aljaž, whom some people attribute in the monument under Dovji with holding his hand in the Hitler salute?
Come on, at least here on the forum let's refrain from these inappropriate jabs that stick to the monument and the local nearby. Jakob Aljaž, man of blessed memory, doesn't deserve this!

Yes, ads, ads.... As long as it's somewhat within normal limits, it's still okay. Lately it's really annoying to follow Hribe, so many notifications keep showing up on it. I don't know the full background well, why ads have to be there and to what extent, but probably the admins could make the forum more user-friendly.

Yes, that's an achievement worth congratulating! Not even the climbing parts stopped you during the run.
Somewhere deep a quiet wish - maybe one day it will work out for me too. Probably not exactly this route, but let's leave it to time.
Once again, sincere congratulations.

Could it be perhaps from Kotovo sedlo towards Vevnica?

Thanks for the answer, Volk. Last time I somewhat looked out for that trail uphill via SW ridge, then down to Bašelj saddle, didn't notice it. Next time I need to be more attentive.
Also attaching an interesting motif from SW ridge towards Psica and Vrtača in the background.

Question for Volk, who obviously knows Storžič well, referring to photo 1 from 20.12.:
Is the lower, more or less flat section part of the unmarked path crossing Storžič at about 1800 m? Does this path continue further west and can it be followed without major difficulties?
tones15. 12. 2015 20:52:00
Igor, what are the difficulties in this route? Higher up you have to go along the normal approach route, right?

The first and second pictures also need additional explanation:
1. cross on Sheep Peak,
2. Klagenfurt.

Otherwise it was really nice up there these days. Just below Sheep Peak summit on Saturday during lunch a flock of crows joined me of course. One was so tame, it kept jumping on me all the time while hunting crumbs. The little model I of course well immortalized.

Thanks, sla and lizika. Interesting, worth a look. Gotta go there.

Maybe someone knows the trench path - Via delle trincee, described on the page http://www.itinerarigrandeguerra.it/code/33492/Pespot-na-hribu-Monte-Zermula ? It's an unmarked path that branches off soon above Forca di Lanza saddle straight towards Zermula and apparently later passes quite a few military positions from the Great War. How is its passability, difficulty, orientation, can the main summit be reached via it without major issues?

Hm, Krkotnik is placed wrong in this order. That's the tower between Celovška špica and Stol, but here it's written as if it were Zahodni Jelenček. It would be good to correct it in the forum title so it doesn't bother unnecessarily.
tones29. 09. 2014 16:20:39
Yes, 2103 m is the height that's most often quoted. It's Celovška špica, which has as many names as heights. And I think this one is more correct than the others, since Celovška špica is quite a bit lower than the 2116 m high Krkotnik. The baton should be taken over by SilvestrO.

This answer is also a riddle. If you're aiming at the average of our and Austrian height quote of the peak, it's very close. But not quite exact yet.

Early morning still in the dark from Tinčkova hut (or from jagrskh bajt if you're into local) through Zagon to saddle Belščica. Planned stop we postponed due to fog to higher level and it paid off. Just below the summit of Eastern Jelenček it opened up, breathtaking. Seas all around, individual islands slowly emerging from clouds; first Vrtača island stood up eerily vertical, then others.
And the real thing began. Descent to Western Jelenček soon showed teeth, so we roped up. Exposed traverse down under the ridge tower is so brilliantly equipped I've never seen similar pitch. Wedge every 2 meters, though terrain not much harder than II. Rope useful also on annoying crumbly passage over clogged gully – crumbly scree even Martuljek wouldn't be ashamed of. Descent from Western Jelenček to Celovška notch not too demanding, but requires care in steep scree.
Ascent to Celovška spica pleasant, best due to ingenious passage through notch to north side right under summit. Views over wall to bottom definitely not for vertigo. At summit no peg for rope descent to continue ridge, so we chose exposed but not too hard descent more on south side. Ridge to Krkotnik is interesting alright! Made of countless huge rock blocks lying across the ridge line like logs. To stay on ridge as much as possible, can't avoid short rope descent (at least for me), but can do easier bypass on south side. Krkotnik offers somewhat easier ridge descent to Stolova notch, from where finale follows.
Ascent to Stol nicely spiced with easy ridge scrambling on solid rock, real shame to miss it even if some descriptions of mentioned tour don't foresee it. Final chords of this nice traverse end on soft grasses; who doesn't want hustle right on top, enjoy tour end here a few meters lower.

No, let's say this one:
