Our 3-day trip from Vrata via Triglav to Planina pri Jezeru, we finished yesterday with a loop tour over Vogle, Vršaki and Debeli vrh.
Start at Planina pri Jezeru, Dedno polje, after approx. 20 min we turned right onto a visible path towards the start of Voglov. Before the last Vogl, about 50m below the summit where there's a small saddle, we descended towards Globoka Konta, found nice passages. From there the path towards Vršaki is indicated at the start of the scree, then you zigzag up to the far right edge of the Vršakov ridge. On the Vršakov ridge we had fantastic views, the path continued towards Debeli vrh. Climbing the ridge and enjoying the sun and views. To Lazovški preval we descended over red scree and on to the Hut on Planina pri Jezeru. Enjoying the solitude.

,,when you have the mountains all to yourself,,
Today was such a day. Start at the 3rd serpentine then to Krnica and along the ,,standard route to Velika Dnina. Janez and I agreed to visit the bivouac on the way back. We did the first pitch far left and all that still nicely on poles. Along the way we fixed some cairns; anyway, we enjoyed the silence, views and sun. The second pitch we did along the ,,classic,,. Nice climbing, not too demanding and we were already at the summit. Alone, no one anywhere...well on Škrlatica there were some. We took a short break, then, since the sun was already quite strong, we decided to rest at the bivouac. FANTASY. (lying until it hurtsbig grin) But since it was only early afternoon, the idea came for MMP too. Then descent towards Martuljek. Ascent to MMP was kind of 2 steps forward and one back, scree, scree, scree, and snow on top. But we successfully climbed to the top. In the direction from the saddle towards Kotli there's still snow and we used ice axe and crampons. Approx. 100m. Then we went to Mečesne and to the valley, where transport was already waiting for us. Great day. I hope there will be more such.

Regards A and J

Well, who goes to the mountains and with what intention is anyway its own chapter. When on the first 1/3 of the path across Plemenice, when you're descending at 16h, on a hot sunny day, an oncoming ,,mountaineer,, going up asks if you have any water to lend... To me that's completely irresponsible....not to mention visiting Triglav.....

I'm not talking about vacation, because I leave the decision to each individual separately and they can go anywhere. But, given that they are talking to us about reducing traffic, sustainability and the green transition. Who has less impact on nature, the one who goes to the mountains for the whole day (once a day by car there and back) and of course spends the whole day for that or the one who drives and walks to the ,,wedge,, takes a photo and drives out. And the next one then into the valley..etc. Statistically speaking, there will always be max 200 vehicles in the valley. I've already said several times that they should turn the price list around, and charge those who come for an ,,hour,, the most. I won't talk about public transport to the valley, because people then walk through the valley on foot and hitchhike when there is no bus. And once again, this is not a ,,shopping center,, that is open all day and you can go there whenever you feel like it, but it is a mountain world, in which whether you want it or not, you are also dependent on the time you spend there. I would definitely charge foreigners more. If nothing else, we here pay taxes, tolls etc....they don't, but they are treated the same. What worries me though is that ,,local sheriffs,, following the example of Vrata and Vršič, will start behaving the same everywhere, and will put ,,barriers,, at all starting points and very high parking fees. And then ,,mountain hiking,, will become a privilege of the wealthy. Kind of like what the USA did at this year's World Cup in football, when the tickets were extremely expensive, but we know that football is a sport of the masses. And also, doctors recommend movement in nature, visiting mountains etc...then visiting the mountain is a financial luxury.

The problem is not hikers but tourists with their aggressive approach to ,,instagram photo,,...they will park everywhere and in total there are many more of them than hikers.... and this bunch at the municipality and PZS knows it, and cares about the hiker because the tourist will pay everything, hikers are collateral damage...anyway our Slovenian mountains have been occupied by foreigners whom we invite so much.... in the hills you practically don't hear a Slovenian word anymore...that's how it is, money smells good to everyone....where is the logic that in the mountain world someone who spends all day in the hills pays max price for parking, a tourist who drives up and down pays nothing or very little.ps. tourist is not burdened with arrival and departure time, mountaineer alpinist is....scam with sustainability and green transition...unfortunately the mountain world is equated with visiting large shopping centers or tourist visits to city centers....

On Sunday we were at the summit. The path was covered in snow practically from the start. The problem was that it was sinking in deeply....uf. We belayed the upper chimney due to the really soft snow, and we also rappelled down the rope....otherwise nice. We admired the alpinists who tackled the ridge between Oltar and Rokav. Hats off..

The problem is also that below the ramp there are other starting points that have nothing to do with parking on Vršič. It would really be necessary to check if these ramps in Vrata and Vršič even have legal basis. This is just for ,,cashing in,, cash and nothing else.....and soon only ,,rich,, will hike to mountains, because everyone will start doing the same....I'm afraid!!!!!

Uf, under the boulder there's already a ,,ornk,, passage. When I went the first time, I barely crawled under there.
Congrats, nice tour

ok...maybe they have 50% off, since they have membership card for thieves

we're here arguing and writing....in real world they'll rip us off so we'll squeal..
andrejp14. 04. 2025 15:06:01
uf... we've really written a lot here... Lingo, do you still live in the time when "fičo" was the best car and the highway was built from LJ - Vrhnika, jobs from 6-14, and no boss called you after that hour and holidays, if on weekend, were moved to workday?!!!!
- they say it's not like that anymore... time goes much faster eh
it really annoys me that after paying all taxes and PZS membership you have no benefits in our mountains for parking fees before tourists..
- in Paklenica (once again) with Slovenian PZS card you get 50% discount on ticket and parking fee....
ps. I've always paid and will pay parking, I'm not against payment... I'M AGAINST ROBBERY AND CLOSING VALLEYS
andrejp10. 04. 2025 18:39:49
The mayor said the state is building the barrier in Vrata and Vršič, they just manage it. The barrier is a pigsty, closing off space like that. If you have time, go by public transport, if not, go by car. But here we pay taxes and PZS membership fee, and you have no advantages over foreigners - tourists who come to the valley, take pics and drive out. And like that all day.... then the one who goes to the mountains pays like a pig because he was in the mountains all day. Meh no point.... if the barrier is normal for you...
andrejp10. 04. 2025 11:35:56
There are complaints, there are... believe me
andrejp5. 04. 2025 13:47:46
Just this too...in the article in news on this site it says PZS membership increased....imagine if a crowd of 64000 members gathers in front of town halls in Kr.g.,Bohinj,Jezersko and PZS office demanding things get properly sorted....would be interesting
andrejp5. 04. 2025 13:05:55
I heard that too and it pissed me off totally... 'cause I have no nice words left for such people with that thinking..
andrejp5. 04. 2025 12:40:29
PS. If they're driving away hikers this way...then I suggest the markers remove all chains, pegs, staples VN from paths and repaint markings....then we'll see how much money they'll get from parkingnasmehjezik
andrejp5. 04. 2025 12:21:09
I know... forgot to mention Bohinj and Jezersko too... same there... good we're not an ,,alpine,, nationjezen
