Ivan, congrats on the nice exploration tour. You gave me an idea. I haven't been to Konečka jama for a long time either. I remember when we were still schoolkids we explored "holes" in our area, now we somehow forget about that too. What's the path from Zaloka to apnenec (water reservoir)? Nice pics you posted nasmeh

I was on Peca on 1.1.2014. Up to the starting point at Jakobe parking I drove without snow chains. Road not plowed but driven on and with winter tires no excessive problem. The path to the summit was trodden. Temperatures quite high so I walked all the time just in a thin long-sleeved jacket. No wind on the summit. Apparently it was windier earlier. Around 12 it was really nice.

I'm also attaching some pics from Smrekovec. We climbed it from Sp. Brložnik on Ash Wednesday. After carnival some fresh air was fitting. Weather was wonderful. Few visitors in the morning. We met only three ski tourers and two hikers with a dog. On return two more hikers just below the top.

Bbrina, thanks for the reply. Yeah, if I don't hurry snow will be down to Brložnik. No problem, the path to Smrekovec in snow is really pleasantnasmeh.

Bbrina, nice photos you've managed to take despite not very friendly weather. I see there's a bit of snow on top of Smrekovec. How far down into the valley is it snowy? I planned to go check Smrekovec today but changed my mind due to low cloud cover. Couldn't see Smrekovec even from home.

Ivan, hello! Nice pics you "posted" nasmeh. I'm glad you're back on the forum, even more that you're back in the mountains. We've really missed your photos and path descriptions. Nice regards from the other side of Golte in Žekovec!

After Shrove Tuesday Saturday it was time for some fresh "air" again. The weather in the valley didn't look very friendly, but a bit higher the sun came out. Start at Sp. Brložnik, which was completely foggy this morning. Not much snow on the path. In a few places the path is a bit icy. Lots of visitors. Some used crampons for walking, but with a little care you can walk fine without them too. At the hut the fog cleared and the sun shone. At the top "bliss"nasmeh. No wind and sunny. Views to the west were obscured by fog, but nice view towards Peč and further into Austria. Around the valleys foggy sea. For illustration attaching a few pics.
Nice regards!

Jure, nice picsnasmeh! Yeah, Peca is known for wind on top. I tried it myself in December. But just below the summit it's much nicer, when enjoying the viewsvelik nasmeh.

Bbrina, really nice trip it was. Pics are so-so. Fog was playing tricks. Expected cloud base lower, but by noon up almost to Raduha summit. Not much new snow, just couple cm. Both through forest to hut and from hut to top. Trail well packed, doesn't sink. We went direct from hut to summit, bit above chapel sharply left uphill. Towards Durc from hut there's track and snowmobile traces, but higher at junction realized right choice. From Durc to summit no track, lots of snow though. Nicer weather promised end of week, tempting to repeat for better views. Safe steps if heading up.

Today my wife and I set off for Raduha. Weather in the valley wasn't the most promising, but you could sense sunlit peaks above the clouds.
We parked at Radušnik. Road there well maintained and normally drivable. Path through forest to hut at Loki trodden. But we were first on it today and probably only hikers. Towards summit no trouble either, as trail is packed, though a couple of cm new snow on it.
Fog at Loki, a bit higher the sun came out, warming us nicely. View of surrounding peaks from top initially obscured by fog, but changed minute by minute. Caught a few glimpses of KSA and towards Pece.
Attaching some snapshots from trail as picsnasmeh.
Best regards!

Bbrina, nice photos you tooknasmeh. You captured the Šoštanj "raufank" excellentlynasmeh. I was also up on Smrekovec yesterday morning, but sadly the view from the top was all fog. Saw only as far as Stare stane. At 11 the fog started to lift but I had to head home earlymrk pogled.
Best regards!

Solist, I also thank you for the detailed report. You somewhat revived memories of those times many years ago, when I was in the army in Pivka. Back then we crawled through quite a few of those bunkers. I'll go myself sometime in nice weather to those places. And also check the military museum to see if my bed in the barracks is still therenasmeh.
Best regards!

Ivan, nice photos you madenasmeh. Looks like yesterday more of us viewing windows in mountains. I was at Olševa and feel there more windows besides known visited ones. Need to explore bit more in summer.

Yesterday my wife and I went to Olševa. We parked by the road at Rogarju. The road is dry. Morning temperature in the valley -6, at Rogarju +4°C. The path to Potočka zijalka is mostly dry, in the forest partly muddy. At the sign for Austria we turned left to see the windows or rock gates as Austrians call them. In the flat part the path is dry, but when we reached the north side it became snowy so we had to use crampons. No one ahead of us on this path so we walked in deep snow. We also crossed a snow slide. The protections on the path to the windows are in good condition. The view through the windows is wonderful. On the return we tried to find the direct path to Obel kamen (desc: geppo 13.6.2009) but couldn't find it, or rather we missed it a bit highermrk pogled. We'll have to try in summer conditions. We returned to the approach path and went back along it to the sign, where there is a marked path left uphill through the forest. We climbed the ridge and then lost the path in the snow. This time we didn't return but found a crossing sideways along the slope and reached the Slovenian marked path a bit above Potočka zijalka. We continued to Obel kamen, then along the ridge towards Govca and back along the path to Potočka zijalka and Rogarju. There is still plenty of snow on the ridge, on the path at some places, otherwise it is dry. Only the junction of the path to Obel kamen is icy at a few places. Extra caution is needed to avoid slipping. Nice all-day tripnasmeh.

Best regards!
Dani
