Well, let me ask too.. nasmeh Has anyone been to Spik recently, around Spik, past Spik? What are the conditions like? Which path would be the most suitable? For the weekend, if the weather is still somewhat acceptable, we'd go take a look. Regards and thanks for the answer

p.s. and don't forget to stoke the stove so it doesn't go out velik nasmeh

Started from Logarska dolina, over Škarje saddle to Planjava. Quite some snow up to the saddle, so crampons are recommended. Weather wonderful, plenty of hikers too... And also, for somewhere 15-20 min I had dog company (Saint Bernard - at least I think), but no trace of the owner. From the collar I wanted to type the tel. no. into the phone, but he ran away at the fifth digit. The last time I saw him he was strolling on Rjavčka gora, but he didn't respond to calls. Hope he safely found his owner.

Yesterday it occurred to me that I'm slowly fed up with this fog. So today I head to Ojstrica (via Kopinškova path). In the lower part you have to be quite careful, as parts of the path are icy. There's also quite a lot of leaves. The higher we go, the larger the snow patches along and on the path itself. Snow is hard, frozen and almost impassable without crampons. Met only two hikers, who turned back at the larger snowfield below the summit. On the summit though different story - sunshine, no wind, nice views and of course no fog far around. I really hope there will be more such days in the future? nasmeh

We are already three, go anywhere, anytime whether it's at 3am or 2pm. I don't want to burden anyone nor they me. I don't like chasing or waiting, just when you're in your element. An hour sitting on a rock fits, or adrenaline climbing on an unsecured wall, when e.g. your companion wouldn't want or dare. True, it's nicer in two, but in "solo" it can be even nicer if you make it so.. When someone asks "Where did you go?" I quickly change the topic, because there have been enough sermons this year titled "You know what all can happen to you" nasmeh Regards

Yesterday I also walked this route. Well almost the whole nasmeh Start Suhadolnik over Grdi greben to both Kočni. Then to Grintovec, over Dolgi hrbet to Skuta and descent past bivouac under Grintovec to Cojzova koča and back to Suhadolnik. Weather wonderful, interesting tour, not to mention the views. On Dolgi hrbet I met ibex, after a short argument who yields to whom on that narrow path, I chickened out. So I had to climb around under them. What can I say, I was in the minority velik nasmeh Otherwise the route is completely dry, well protected, well marked and without major features.. Best regards and safe steps Damjan

I tried quite a few gojzarjevs today and this one fit my foot the best /www.promontana.si/spletna-trgovina/izdelek/370/cevedale_gtx_cevlji/ and I'm wondering how it performs on summer and some lighter winter tours. True they're a bit pricey but I've learned from experience that it's not worth skimping on boots.. nasmeh

Bravo, looks like a very interesting hike, wonderful landscape, lots of beautiful things to see... I wouldn't mind something like that, maybe in the near future nasmeh Best regards, Damjan

For over Dolgi hrbet I can't give exact info, no snow visible, at least from below. Path under the ridge is different, every now and then cross some snowfield, on the scree below Skuta my predecessor turned back, so I had to blaze the trail myself. Slowly but surely. nasmeh Didn't have winter gear, but recommended of course. If nothing else for faster and 'safer' progress over snow-covered scree. Of course depends on weather and time of hike too. Regards

Was on Skuta today, now yesterday nasmeh Weather really wasn't great, but I persisted anyway. When I reached the rocky climb below Skuta, conditions got so bad I couldn't see three meters ahead. So head on shoulders and back. Just before the bivouac below Grintovec heavy rain and hail. A little rest, snacks from backpack and waiting... when it calmed a bit, the sun peeked out and the question arose, go back or not? 'they say second time goes easier' velik nasmeh otherwise still quite some snow... Started from Kranj at 7, home at 22h.. quite long. Regards Damjan

Velkavrh, thanks for the advice on the path, it sounds interesting.. At the first opportunity and when conditions improve a bit, I plan to 'conquer' it nasmeh 031833385, I haven't been to Skuta yet, so I don't know where the path goes and how snowy it is. I browsed fotkot and found this pic, hope it helps. Lp

Today I was on Grintovec for the first time velik nasmeh and couldn't wish for better weather conditions. The whole path without a cloud, occasional breeze so it wasn't too hot. Only regret is not taking sunscreen, I got properly sunburned (tomorrow laughter at work)... Reached the top around 12, so no snow issues, and there's not much left anyway. Given the height I expected a tougher hike but it went fine. From Suhadolnik direction to the top took under three and a half hours, so need to repeat sometime nasmeh Regards Damjan
