Description:
Viper's bugloss (Echium vulgare) belongs to the borage family, flowers from June to September, grows 20 to 100 cm tall. It is a common tall flower along mountain paths in the mid-montane and lower high-montane zones up to 2200 m. Grows along paths and dry meadows or pastures. Requires dry, rocky, nutrient-rich soils. The entire plant has stiff, somewhat prickly, bristly hairs. Stem is spotted. Leaves are lanceolate. Flowers are arranged along the stem. Flower color changes from pink to blue shades.
