....Završnica, Smolnik, Ajdna, Valvasor....The trail is nice, a bit wet in some places /water/. To Smolnik via shortcut, right opposite the "cable" one. It's quite steep. On the sunny slope, a bit before the summit, fragrant hellebore is already blooming. To Ajdna via the climbing route, back via the normal trail. I always help my little rascals at the start of the climbing part. Avrikelj has already finished blooming. Hard to find any flower on the cliffs. Towards Valvasor via the path across the road. But not the marked one, but the forest one. It joins that little path opposite Smolnik. Down to the valley via "cable" a bit past the bench. Nice trip, although visibility today wasn't the best. Well, at least no rain fell nasmeh

Trail markings are rare, in the second half of the trail they probably ran out of white paint for the blaze dots. The trail should be rated as partially or poorly marked. I mean the second half from Koroška Bela. Another incorrect info is the signpost marked Difficult trail 20 min, which is below the summit. On the portal it's marked as easy marked trail, which it actually is. I'm writing this so that signpost doesn't deter anyone from ascending this wonderful viewpoint.

thunder can be heard, but luckily Ajdna doesn't come

...Završnica, Smolnik, Ajdna...- Day of remembrance, indeed. Ira and I are alone, my thoughts are with Žak, my sister's dog friend who had to go too early to dog hunting grounds because of a tick. You involuntarily become sadder and more thoughtful when you stand there in the little church on Ajdna. I always have a special feeling towards our ancestors. You can imagine how they lived, hid and survived. But on Ajdna after 9 years they've started works again, it says in the summit logbook. Trails are quite wet, full of leaves. This beautiful autumn is ending quickly, hardly any colors left, shame. The normal trail to Završnica is completely closed. Detour in Moste at the end of the bridge. Narrow, very steep path is one-way - traffic light. nasmeh

I know there's a logbook, but I'm wondering if there's also a stamp at the top of Ajdna???

...Smolnik, Ajdna...suitable trip for this changeable weather. Snow only a trace left along the forest road. Not far, but nice nasmeh

@Majdag what a beautiful little trail to Ajdna, I liked it too and it calls for more; but do you carry the dog over that "steepest-rocky" part of the ferrata? Regards mežikanje

We used the beautiful sunny day to visit Ajdna. We parked along the gravel road about 30 min away from Valvasor hut. We went to Ajdna past the hut, downhill. We returned via the lower road. Almost no snow or mud, views were super. Nothing more.

Today on the way back from Valvasor hut I also went to Ajdna. I checked out the archaeological site. The fixed cables surprised me. A little training for more demanding hikes.

Safety first. Easier access without cables is from the front side.

Saturday afternoon from Završnica to Smolnik and Ajdna, then back to Valvasor for Babudrovo surprise and down to the valley.

I could say for yesterday. The path was just sufficiently frozen so that the step was safe nasmeh

This Smolnik impressed me, especially the pines and views to Stol. And the bench too. Great! I'd go. I always feel good having coffee in front of Valvasor hut. What's the walking time for such a loop? Thanks in advance.

....My friend Ira and I walk slower when we're alone. We enjoy, have a lot to see, both. We walked with a long stop at Smolnik and especially Ajdna, four and a half hours. nasmeh

...Not difficult, if you come up the steep way, descend on the other side to the forest road. Continue left on the road, towards Potoška planina. After about 15 minutes you'll reach the junction for Ajdna. There are also signposts in all directions. All paths- Ajdna and Smolnik are well described by Heinz on Hribi.net. Ločanka, it's quite well marked nasmeh

This Smolnik wouldn't leave my mind and today was the right day for this trip. Start in Završnica-Smolnik-Ajdna-Valvazor-Završnica - that was the direction of the hike. I'm sure there are few such little-known peaks whose location is determined near much higher mountains, but which are so luxurious with views on the path itself, that it's not a waste of time to stop and admire. The summit is exceptional, where you can meditate with open eyes. A peak where you could stay for hours and forget time. Really thanks to Majdag who presented this loop variant of the excursion, and also to Heinz for the path description. Gotta go up there again!
