So is the path to B. Grintavec still only from Soča village (and even that apparently not very praiseworthy)? Thanks for any info and good luck.

There is another one, although not exactly short, from Bavšica, over about three peaks: Vrh Ruš, Vrh Brda and to Mali Grintavec. Well then you have to descend a bit. Quite a demanding descent, because as far as I remember there was lots of scree on the path. Further to the top of Bavarian Grintavec the path is ok. No ladder on the path. And markers along the ridge are poorly visible or none at all. At the junction watch out not to go towards Kanja saddle. There was a sign on the rock. The path goes right to Bavarian Grintavec. I remember when we were there a few years ago with Marijan, two more hikers came after us. At Mali Grintavec the older hiker didn't believe the path goes down. Then he took the map and convinced himself.

Also the map nasmeh
Completely on the right the label "Bavarian Grintavec" is cut off, only "B" is visible. With the right map no problem mežikanje

Yes, I still see him, how the gentleman - supposedly professor - sat down on the grass there and unfolded the map. And he just couldn't believe it until he convinced himself. Yes, some are doubting Thomases. nasmeh

Darinka, I always check (at least) twice. And I don't know how many times it happened to me that it was not enough.

The path from Bavšica is followable, maybe just a bit overgrown in the lower part (last year's experience, haven't been this year). Once you're towards the hunting hut, it's pure pleasure. The circular route is nice, in Soča you can arrange parking at Caritas so the car doesn't stand half a day at the shop.

Today our young mountaineer stamped the last stamp in the Extended section and thus completed the Slovenian Mountain Trail booklet.mežikanje
After a long night drive over Vršič he arrives in Soča and heads on the trail to the summit and back. The trail is normally passable, now quite well marked and still fitness-demanding.jezik
It was a beautiful day, without a single cloud for the end of our long journey. Efforts are forgotten, memories will remain forever.nasmeh

Bravo, young fellow!
But his eyes probably already have a new empty booklet ready.
Or will you tackle easier pathless terrains?

After Tuesday's Kamniški Grintovec, on Wednesday I head to the Trenta or Bavarian version. Shortly before midday I start from Soča village. Dry to the alpine pasture and a bit higher, then snow begins, but there is even less of it here than in the Kamnik hills. At three I reach the top. Clear atmosphere, beautiful panorama, but the cold presses and doesn't allow a longer stay. I descend in the direction of the ascent, on the pasture I admire the colors of the setting sun and absorb the silence that is native to these places. The last part of the descent back to icy Trenta in darkness.
It's cloudy to the south1
