Heinz, on the first photo is the female of the Rufous-tailed rock thrush, on the second her young one. The Rufous-tailed rock thrush you'll hardly see around here, maybe in Slovenian Istria.

Ron, it seemed to me that it was the Rufous-tailed rock thrush, because I also read that in Slovenia we can encounter it only in the south, in the coastal region, as you say. Some pictures of the female that I came across were indeed very similar to this one, but it seems it remains just that. This was finally confirmed to me by today's encounter with the male, or both in a pair, when they were just chasing a least weasel.

Wallcreeper. The original habitat of this species is mountain rocky slopes. The species has very successfully adapted to human presence, as it is now also very common in settlements (instead of rocks it nests on houses-roofs, crevices...) lp

Yesterday we witnessed an interesting event. 5 eagles (mountain ones?-ornitolog will surely know ) were systematically combing the upper slopes of Rombon. Probably looking for dinner . I've never seen anything like it, so we stopped for a while and watched them. The photos are not the best, because the zoom on the phone is pretty poor...

I think it's the booted eagle, but Ornitolog will decide

Booted eagle. On the first and last pictures the characteristic white patch is clearly visible, which eagles don't have (young eagles do have a white pattern, but quite different). In addition, it's hard to see more than 2 or 3 eagles together, while booted eagles are often in larger groups - on Sunday I counted over 30 above the southern slope of Krn, when they found a dead sheep.

Thanks to both for the reply. I admit I'm not much of a bird expert, so I believe you once again, it was really an interesting sight I'm not used to. Apparently I'll have to turn to the Primorska side of the Alps more often (with pleasure)

I've never seen a stork from such close range, which was foraging on the meadow between Crngrob and Šutno:

I observed this almost from "balance", a little before Redič (Rédics).

Who knows this? Probably I've noticed them before, but I don't remember because jackdaws always steal all the attention They look like some turtledoves. Photo taken on top of Grintovec.

The answer is correct. They are snowfinches.
