Until now we only had tits, and crested tits sometimes too, but this week these little beauties came to visit. But they chase the tits away from the feeder, they really attack them. Very interesting to observe it all.

Currently several bird species come to my feeders. I've caught some of them in the lens in the last few days, but the photos are of poor quality, as some are taken through glass, and others lack sharpness because they're always moving. I'll be happy if you help identify them, ornithologist or anyone who knows them. I recognize the woodpecker, but can't distinguish between great spotted, middle and lesser, let alone male and female. And one is probably a coal tit.. lp

Hi Zlatica, on the photos it's the great spotted woodpecker. The one with the red nape is the male (2nd photo), females have a uniform black head (1st photo). Photo 4 is, as you wrote, coal tit, photo 5 is female greenfinch. lp

Oh, thanks ornithologist, you've really cheered me up with the identification, Now I'll know which birds I'm admiring. They're so interesting when you watch how they behave. Merry Christmas Eve!

ornithologist, what about this little bird? I did some research, it seems like a wood warbler to me, but I don't know if the willow warbler isn't a bit more yellowish on the belly?

pikica1, a real colorful palette of birdies visits you. Very nice, even grey-headed woodpecker. I also have enough magpies around the house, right next to our house they nest every year in a tall spruce, so there are too many of them, and their "crying" never stops, as they are really loud and especially in summer quite annoying.

Pikica we too are isolated, but that's why there's more peace and variety as far as nature goes . Magpies have hardly been seen for decades, they are smart and have come closer to larger settlements where they've found more peace. If they had insight into the mentality and state of motor skills of today's children, they would nest on cherry trees by houses .

@pikica1 ... we're the last in the village what can you do, someone has to be Well yeah, if you come from behind forward you're the first @mirank . . . to some of today's kids, regarding motor skills meant, even a ladder doesn't help

pikica1, you took a good photo of it! It really is a restless little bird, hard to make a good shot. Mine are usually all blurry

Super bird photos at the feeder! @ločanka, bravo for the wallcreeper. You need quite some luck to see it. Even more to photograph it

A few years ago I watched it on Blegoš, how it attacked a car driving past. It was above the road, but the driver stopped the car (probably wanted to photograph it), then it charged straight into the side of the car and pecked the door until the driver drove off. I had quite a lump in my throat when I went past that spot after it, with one eye watching the action on the side. Really magnificent bird.
