This one also lives on Ogradi, right on the top. Her partner hid, so he's not in the picture

I photographed this beautiful bird in Italy on a tour of the Texelgruppe mountains near the Stettiner Hütte hut at an altitude of 2800m. It was the size of our chaffinch. I couldn't find it in the Birds of Europe handbook.

This one is also something like a chaffinch. I know they differ a bit by regions. For example, a few years ago I saw them on Madeira, they were chaffinches, but slightly differently colored. That's why I thought it's the same here too.

Photographed on Tuesday, 10.8. on the path between Orožnova koča and Lisec... I'd say it's a dipper, although in flight that characteristic "perking" wasn't noticeable. Please correct me if I'm wrong... Thanks.

@velkavrh, it's a male chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), the same as we find here too. @GITA, on your photos it's a female dipper.

Besides the most well-known barn swallow, there are still a few species living in Slovenia, including the crag martin. Its population is more than 100 times smaller than the population of barn swallows, only about 1100 to 1400 pairs. They nest in rock cavities or rock fragments. There are two nests in the picture. The pictures are poorer, as they were taken in a cavity.

I know they are a bit poorer quality, but still. Does anyone recognize this bird? Photo from Pohorje. Lp

Black redstart is a small songbird that was previously classified in the thrush family, now mainly among flycatchers. Nests throughout southern and central Europe in rock cracks or holes in buildings. Very widespread also in Slovenia. Wikipedia

I have no good news. One brood, I hope not the first, of dipper has been predated. Judging by the sign (on the left in the picture) we blame the marten.
