Yesterday start from barrier. Morning at 07.30 frost 8°C, but after 30 min. fast hike it was already time for short sleeves.
Via ferrata to Czech Hut and on to Vratca.
Over that famous overhang on ferrata just brute force, foot in rock and jerk pull up on cable... Not exactly elegant 
Ascent over scree to Vratca a bit nasty. Gully under Vratca very crumbly, first time here and path more demanding than imagined.
Need lots of care not to trigger anything. Definitely path not boring, great loop from Czech Hut!
Back via scenic unmarked (hunter?) path under Špegovec, which later joins from above near Makek pass and drops to Štularjeva planina.
Biggest highlight of the day were two massive avalanches under wall between Dolgi hrbet and Štruca. Went all the way to gully under Ledine. First one watched with a gentleman right from top of Vratc. Second much louder, already in forest on way back and unfortunately missed seeing it. Thundered and boomed more than first. Quite eerie to listen to.

Today via ferrata and further to Vratc.
To ferrata need to cross two snow patches. First actually eases access, no big slope, saves some scree. Second, steeper snow patch right before ferrata entry, cross carefully here.
Ferrata condition b.p.
This year "discovered" second part ferrata offers us gravel guys super chance for real climbing without using cable. Of course still secure with cable. Very nice. Coming again.
In gully under Vratca snow patch still, to proceed bypass it. Possible, but utmost careful due to great crumbly terrain.

Curious about path exposure (pic 10,11,12)?
See it's on part with landslide and secured with cables. Still want to know visual feel, is there "air" under feet or small height?

Today (second time) walked this path. Excellently secured. At some exposed spots really "air" under feet, but no issue because of cable Of course if scared, can clip with SVK. For me personally Žrela retreat nicest approach to Czech Hut, warmly recommend.

You have of course a circular variant, via the normal route you go from the hut down to the Ravenska Koča.

For “Umik Žrela” there really is no need for SVK. Just go boldly.
