Due to all-day snowfall already in the valley at Jezersko this weekend, Czech Hut will not have the restaurant part open. Winter room is normally open. This year a gas stove has been placed in the vestibule on which it is possible, with normal use, also to cook something. Mountain greetings, ToneK

What are conditions for hike to Czech Hut from Jezersko? How much snow, is it trodden, slippery? In short can one ascend safely?

Fresh data, today Saturday 22.12.07 at 9am, path nicely trodden, snow at hut itself less than a meter, temperature plus 1 degree, for comparison in Jezersko center minus 8.
nice winter tour recommended for lovers of old lady
Who prefers sunshine recommend Virnikov Grintovec cheers ToneK

Oh and one more thing. Can one walk nicely in hiking boots or are crampons necessary equipment or without them no go?

Good hiking boots will be perfectly sufficient for this weekend, maybe gaiters won't be out of place either. HI ToneK

what conditions can I expect on the path Ravenska Kočna Czech Hut-Kočna. I mean snow, ice and especially falling rocks due to recent collapses in the Kočna wall. is it safe to go to Kočna next weekend at all?

The path to Kočna is nicely passable except some steep snowfields where the snow is soft.

Parked at the end of the meadow, since the path further to the cable car is not possible (snow). At Štularjeva planina there is still lots of snow sinking over the knee. Up to here the path is fully passable, further very difficult due to fallen trees and snow on steep slopes. With gf we wanted to go to the hut yesterday, but turned back a bit after the pasture, as it looked like the snow slab would detach and crash down the slope... lp,
