On Wednesday Emil and I headed to the Czech Hut. Despite the rain it was quite ok, just no views. We drove from Jezersko to the cargo cableway then onwards via Hudičevi kvanci and Vojtrca. No big crowd at the hut, we met just a few Austrians. But on the way back it rained quite nicely. More luck next time.

Today's hike to the Czech Hut. Path through the forest is bare, just in some spots ice hidden under leaves (careful). But when out of forest, snow appears, so more caution needed, risk of slipping (crampons needed). Nice regards

Nice. Yeah, if some find it hard to extend the tour by a couple minutes and leave the car at this nicely arranged parking, then I really don't know...

For the visit to the Czech Hut, we decided on the recommendation of acquaintances, via Hudičevi kvanci, Vojtrce and Mrzva dolina. The weather was wonderful, the warm sun almost didn't let us decide for the return to the valley, but we still shouldered our backpacks and said goodbye to the friendly warden. Regards

Yesterday via Slovenska to Ledine and through the gorge to the Czech Hut. A month ago they newly made the hunting path to Ledine and it is nicely secured and soon it will be possible to see how it looks. l.p.

Is there still any snow on the path to the Czech Hut? Thank you in advance for the answer.

I think that to the Czech Hut via Vojtroc the path is dry as dust; three weeks ago it was almost all the way to the hut. Higher up, of course, there are snow patches like everywhere in the mountains this year.

Today for regeneration to the Czech Hut. There were really a huge number of people today. The parking lot below was completely full. Then we walked to the Czech Hut like in a procession. I continued to Ledine. In between there is one larger snowfield, but luckily it is sufficiently melted so that it can be crossed.

Today I skied it in windy weather towards the Czech Hut. I started the path over the cargo cableway and Andrejeva bench, which higher up is densely loaded with beeches. There I take the only variant immediately left into the steep slope, where I reach the upper marked path from Jezersko. Further in the traverse, slippery southern snow with a crust base starts. To Vojtrce it was still OK, further on I assessed that it was too loaded with breakable slippery snow, before it there were yawning crust caves. For direct walking on it, no way at all because of the crust below. Even with crampons, a part of the old snow could break underfoot, and securing by stopping with the ice axe is practically impossible there with only a few meters' runout into the abyss. At 1500 m it was already blowing strongly, above Zg. Ravne it was roaring from the walls. Because of the crust I assessed that a slide on the steeper part would also be risky, so I descended. Below I meet Davo, who while chatting is sawing and stacking wood. At G.C. the thermometer showed only 5°C today, which a few days ago was also whitened. To my question I also received Davo's expert advice on how to act when a skier hits an icy plate. In this case it is better to prevent it beforehand so that it doesn't happen at all, or already on the ascent check the terrain. At the top you decide how to go down, whether with turns or sideslip, at that the edges must always be sharpened. Most importantly, the skier in a difficult situation must stay calm and balanced on the skis, not with weight forward or back, and only then can properly react to the situation ahead. This can be learned also in ski training with the open walking heel part of the binding and thus we have no heel support back, the terrain must be safe for that. So the path to the Czech Hut from the direction of the cargo cableway is officially still closed due to fallen trees, but it is open via Štularjeva path from the arranged parking lot of Ravenska Kočna directly up.

Today to Czech Hut via new ferrata. Few photos because alone. Ferrata wonderfully routed, needs quite some arm strength as still much damp soil. This prevents good foothold on rock (from damp soil dirty shoe soles).

Are there enough footholds or do you pull more on cables like at Cjajnik? Is the ferrata better equipped?

I too went today via ferrata. The ferrata is such that there is quite a lot of pulling on the cable. Especially if a bit wet like today. And there was quite some falling stones.
