Despite the forecasted rain we still set off to the Czech Hut todayvelik nasmeh. The weather held at the beginning, at Štularjeva planina the sun even shone. We planned to go to Vratca but the fog soon descended. So Vratca remain for the next trip. There were still quite a few visitors. When we decided to head home it started raining and thundering.

On Wednesday Emil and I headed to the Czech Hut. Despite the rain it was quite ok, just no views. We drove from Jezersko to the cargo cableway then onwards via Hudičevi kvanci and Vojtrca. No big crowd at the hut, we met just a few Austrians. But on the way back it rained quite nicely. More luck next time.

Beautiful morning lured us to the Czech Hut today. We chose the route Makekova Kočna - Czech Hut.
The path is dry, just a little snow below the summit for decoration. At the spring there's a nice little water mill. Behind the Jezerci at Palčkova skala there's a mini model of the cableway at Czech Hut.
At Kačji rob it's like the weather is at odds with all rules. Despite warm sun it'll chill you properly there. Before Hudičevi kvanci the path joins from the lower cableway station. The wooden steps hold well and the cables are all intact.
The path poses no difficulties. Hut is open.
Great day, though rain refreshed us at the end.jezik

Today's hike to the Czech Hut. Path through the forest is bare, just in some spots ice hidden under leaves (careful). But when out of forest, snow appears, so more caution needed, risk of slipping (crampons needed). Nice regards

Today due to bad weather I choose a shorter trip to the Czech Hut at Spodnje Ravne. I pick the Umik Žrela path, as it's more attractive with climbing sections with cables. Now right after the forest there's a big parking lot arranged and further to the cargo cableway no cars allowed. Today most didn't follow the ban. Rain annoyed a bit but nothing serious. Before Žrelo I meet even the hut warden going to the anniversary of the accident at Okrešelj. More hikers I meet heading via the climbing slovenska to Ledine. Czech Hut was open and the warden welcomed with fresh baked apple strudel - oh how good. On the way back I meet a whole bus of hikers from Prlekija. They don't fear a little rain.
Lonely parking lot except for my car.1
Baba - it didn't look very encouraging at all.2

Nice. Yeah, if some find it hard to extend the tour by a couple minutes and leave the car at this nicely arranged parking, then I really don't know...zavijanje z očmi

This time to the Czech Hut in wonderful weather. Now below before the cargo cableway there's a spacious parking arranged-before the forest and at the cableway itself parking forbidden, but hikers follow it only a little. Up I go the usual path via Hudičevih kvancev, Vojtrce and Mrzva dolina. Lots of visitors at the hut, as the weather was so nice. Back via Umik Žrela, where I like to go up too.

We must not fear this secured path - it is very pleasant.5

From the hut to the right we can ascend to this nearby hill - half an hour. Otherwise, Češka koča is the classic starting point for Kočna and via Žrelo to Ledine. Of course from here we can also go to Skuto and Grintavec.7

Back to Umik Žrela - view back to Češka koča.9
This path is well secured.10
No fear needed - from here you go to Žrelo itself.11

Here the Slovenian climbing via ferrata to Ledine begins.14

For the visit to the Czech Hut, we decided on the recommendation of acquaintances, via Hudičevi kvanci, Vojtrce and Mrzva dolina. The weather was wonderful, the warm sun almost didn't let us decide for the return to the valley, but we still shouldered our backpacks and said goodbye to the friendly warden. Regards

Yesterday via Slovenska to Ledine and through the gorge to the Czech Hut. A month ago they newly made the hunting path to Ledine and it is nicely secured and soon it will be possible to see how it looks.

Is there still any snow on the path to the Czech Hut? Thank you in advance for the answer.

I think that to the Czech Hut via Vojtroc the path is dry as dust; three weeks ago it was almost all the way to the hut. Higher up, of course, there are snow patches like everywhere in the mountains this year.

On Friday afternoon after work for fresh air to the Czech Hut at Spodnje Ravne. After work I head straight to Jezersko. I leave the car at the large arranged parking lot in Ravenska Kočna. This year they additionally equipped it with nice panels and a bench. I go to Umik Žrela. I always like going up there. In Umik Žrela there is only one small snow patch, which we cross without trouble and continue from there along the cables. In the hut the warden Krničar Tone with his wife is already kindly waiting with fresh strudel. Nice up there. Welcome. Right after the parking lot in Ravenska Kočna we find our wild orchid - lepi čeveljc - it is protected.
This beautiful panorama is known to all of us when we drive into Ravensko Kočno.1
Such a nicely arranged parking lot awaits us - commendable.2
Ravenska Kočna invites!3
The map informs us where we can go.4
When we exit the forest at the cargo cableway, we immediately spot the majestic Baba with its forepeak to the left.5
This is the very summit of Baba.6
Soon we encounter the devastation on the scree slope caused by last late-autumn storm. It thoroughly plowed the scree in the central part and created a real gully.7
Already on the scree itself, Grintavec reveals itself nicely to us.8
A short ascent and we are at the junction where the path turns to Žrelo itself.9
This is another snowfield that we cross without difficulty and continue along the fixed ropes.10
For me the most beautiful part of the path along the fixed ropes.11
In front of the hut it is still quite winter.12

Today for regeneration to the Czech Hut. There were really a huge number of people today. The parking lot below was completely full. Then we walked to the Czech Hut like in a procession. I continued to Ledine. In between there is one larger snowfield, but luckily it is sufficiently melted so that it can be crossed.

Today I skied it in windy weather towards the Czech Hut.
I started the path over the cargo cableway and Andrejeva bench, which higher up is densely loaded with beeches. There I take the only variant immediately left into the steep slope, where I reach the upper marked path from Jezersko. Further in the traverse, slippery southern snow with a crust base starts. To Vojtrce it was still OK, further on I assessed that it was too loaded with breakable slippery snow, before it there were yawning crust caves. For direct walking on it, no way at all because of the crust below. Even with crampons, a part of the old snow could break underfoot, and securing by stopping with the ice axe is practically impossible there with only a few meters' runout into the abyss. At 1500 m it was already blowing strongly, above Zg. Ravne it was roaring from the walls. Because of the crust I assessed that a slide on the steeper part would also be risky, so I descended. Below I meet Davo, who while chatting is sawing and stacking wood. At G.C. the thermometer showed only 5°C today, which a few days ago was also whitened. To my question I also received Davo's expert advice on how to act when a skier hits an icy plate. In this case it is better to prevent it beforehand so that it doesn't happen at all, or already on the ascent check the terrain. At the top you decide how to go down, whether with turns or sideslip, at that the edges must always be sharpened. Most importantly, the skier in a difficult situation must stay calm and balanced on the skis, not with weight forward or back, and only then can properly react to the situation ahead. This can be learned also in ski training with the open walking heel part of the binding and thus we have no heel support back, the terrain must be safe for that.
So the path to the Czech Hut from the direction of the cargo cableway is officially still closed due to fallen trees, but it is open via Štularjeva path from the arranged parking lot of Ravenska Kočna directly up.nasmeh

At the Czech Hut yesterday nice sunny day. Path Umik Žrelu a bit damp, path over Hudičeve kvance at some places very muddy and slippery. Nice short trip this is!

Today to Czech Hut via new ferrata. Few photos because alone. Ferrata wonderfully routed, needs quite some arm strength as still much damp soil. This prevents good foothold on rock (from damp soil dirty shoe soles). velik nasmeh

Are there enough footholds or do you pull more on cables like at Cjajnik? Is the ferrata better equipped?

I too went today via ferrata. The ferrata is such that there is quite a lot of pulling on the cable. Especially if a bit wet like today.
And there was quite some falling stones.
