Cases of reinfection can be found a few (less than 1%), nothing new or unusual. Especially now with the spread of new strains (English, South African, Brazilian...)
With vaccination it's like:
- does not provide 100% protection
- protection after receiving dose is not instant, but takes time for the body to produce antibodies
- protection after 1st dose is worse or lower than after 2nd dose
- person can be vaccinated at time when infection is already developing and symptoms haven't appeared yet
In short, I myself don't see any unpleasant question here, rather we have too few specific information (especially about time between events described by "pantani1").

@zavest, there still aren't that many cases of reinfection (at least not here). For many it turned out the PCR test was positive for a long time. Even after 2 months. Of course virus remnants, not live virus. But true, over time more reinfections, reasons well described. In Manaus this story of new surge with new strain holds...despite prior high immunity.

Yes, Primož, mRNA vaccines can be adapted in 6-7 weeks, but then they need to be produced, distributed to individual countries and to vaccination sites and ... but we'll just discard the old stocks?
Not to mention they might need re-testing and re-approval from the competent institution. Even without these two things it takes at least half a year for everything to turn around.
