Bravo Lajcicar, really nice work, shame we didn't meet up there, looks like a really nice idyll and it must have been cold too judging by the icicles on the mustaches ha ha and such. Thanks for Christmas New Year's message from Donačka g. Same wishes from me to all hill climbers.

Lajcicar you are real "KING". Tomorrow morning we'll go with "stankoju" to check it out up there. Weather forecast is right for some super winter idyll pic.

Today despite cold weather visited Donačka Hill, not the loop but straight past Rudijev dom to the top and back. Snow 15-20cm where drifts even more. Quite a few of us made the track, on top real winter idyll also spruce nicely decorated added some ornaments. Met also owner of old Zastava "beekeeper", said few words and drank some mulled wine then descent to valley.

Late afternoon I did a loop: St. Donat - over Krče - east summit - main summit - Rudijev dom - St. Donat. Cold as hell, especially on top (-15). Judging by the summit book and track to Rudijev dom, there were quite a few people up there today. lp

On Independence Day nice visit to Donačka g., but for "lajcicar" too late, it escaped us. Day after rain nice for views, path over cables not too muddy towards home still quite good for walking but from Rudijev dom onwards to car pure mud and you can quickly end up on your backside. Lojze second time about half an hour later. lp

Last Sunday I with colleague knocked off first Boč, then Donačka, it was nicely frozen in the morning, so really nice to walk. There were quite a few hikers at both locations. Lp

Hello! I am from neighboring Croatia, precisely Varaždin. I am a big hiking enthusiast, and I adore Donačka Gora. Of course, I've never gone the path where the steel cables are. How to get there? I usually park by the cemetery in Sveti Jurij, then climb to the church of St. Donat. From the church, go back east. First the path is in the forest, but not even 50m then a meadow full of ferns and creepers and there the path is flat. As soon as you enter the forest, the cart path starts steeply climbing. That path suddenly disappears (just before that a single mark) and then you go zigzag up a pile of stones. There the marks start. You must pass through a gully on the wall (with hands and feet). After that passage the path goes zigzag again (marks are rare so they disappear) and then you emerge on a meadow and it joins Frolih's path not a minute to the top with the cross. At the junction there is a crossed-out mark. Why this description? What is the name of that path?

In the top left corner we have two flags available, representing the language we want to discuss in. Click. (No need for translation fatigue.)

MARX - to the cables you can also get from Rudi's home, don't go right to the top but continue ahead on the forest path-road and after 10 min the path turns to the top and that goes to the cables. The path also goes from Kupčinj peak and from Žetal-Čermožiše.

Just back from Donačka gora, path snowy with thick ice crust, over cables caution needed. At top met a gentleman who came via the path from the home and said that just before him a large beech collapsed (broke); we noticed that on descent too as the tree fell right on the path and now passage is very difficult, so caution is not superfluous because still heard cracking of branches laden with rime ice.

I have to tell Marx that the path he describes is not the official path. That path from St. Donat's church through the forest to the top was once marked and very well. On the request of the hunting society we had to remove the marks because in their opinion the marks scared the chamois living here. To Stanko I say that tomorrow I will go check where the beech fell and immediately notify Ptuj forestry.

Sunday 10 Jan. 2010 From Čermožiš across the meadow to the foot of the northern slope and straight up natural passages to the summit. Descent along the hiking trail past Rudi's hut. During the ascent we practically tested walking with crampons and ice axe and movement by the rope railing... Trees on Donačka were dressed in thin rime ice and hoarfrost... Sun sparkled on the twigs, that snow and ice kept us company on the way. Some of us got it down the neck too. Stepping out from shady northern side to warm sun meant we reached the top.

Yesterday afternoon went up via chimneys, where it's very icy and quite dangerous for slipping, so don't recommend this route for now to less experienced without winter gear. Otherwise on the other side towards Rudi's hut beech still lies across path so need to bypass it.
