Today, Lajči and I went up to clear the little spruce and nativity, but we decided the spruce stays till Candlemas as it's nicely decorated, cleared the nativity and burnt candles and took them down to the valley. On the path to Rudi's hut the beech is still on the path and they've started a shortcut down before it which isn't good. But in the hut they said today there was already an inspection of the beech by the authorities for removal and the action is underway, need a permit as it's protected forest. I hope it'll be fixed soon so no more damage.

Visit to Donačka Mountain today was the right choice. Parked about 2 km before the hut then past it on the marked trail to the top. At the top, sunshine gaining strength. As the predecessor described, the little spruce still adorns the top, which at nice weather offers wonderful views.

For a change, we with friends did a night hike around below from Čermožiš to Rudi's hut then to farm tourism under Donačka from there around to the car. At the start heavy snowing, walking in fresh snow pleasant. New snow up to 25 cm. lp

Sherpa, you caught wonderful moments. In the morning, the sun just shyly peeked a bit between the clouds. Otherwise, it was lightly snowing, but it was still beautiful!

The decision to step on Donačka Mountain today was right; at the top the sun awaited me, though it was quite windy, but the views were wonderful.

Today on Donačka via chains real winter conditions, windblown snow towards and over chains and icy below so full caution needed, high slip risk, snowdrifts on descent, winter ain't no joke.

It's nice even in such conditions but caution must always be present so you don't take unnecessary risks. Trod only on marked path so easier for those behind us. It was fun.:jezik.

This afternoon my friend and I decided for ascent to Donačka mtn to see how much snow, must say we went first via chains path and snow good half meter on drifts even meter and half. Path quite tough as we barely broke through drifts and towards chains hard to find right path. We stuck to marks whole way also down to Rudi's hut. On path from top to Rudi's hut lost crampon with red rubber and spiked chains, if anyone finds please leave at hut.

Forgot to write that the lost stick is hanging on the tree before the entry to the steep chains section if someone misses it.

Today I sank in deep!!! On some sections over a meter!!! More than half of my "el clasica" around Donačka I had to break trail alone. I got over the chains to the south side and after 5 minutes I spotted 20 m below me two skiers pushing up the slope. Only my strong heart saved me from a heart attack. A few words and as far as I understood they had already been at the top, descended and missed the direction so they are going up again.... And a bit further good 150 m lower avalanche debris?! Obviously they haven't heard of the high avalanche danger level or they don't care if they add to this year's black statistics. Whoever thinks that an avalanche can't surprise them on Donačka is greatly mistaken and should check the attached pictures!!!
PS: stankoju, I looked for the crampon but unfortunately didn't notice it.

Today PD Medvode hikers visited, good old friends from Gorenjska. We did a circular tour: St. Jurij - St. Donat - around the mountain and up to the summit from the north - Rudi hut - St. Donat - St. Jurij. We grilled the sausages well, as we had time to shout. Safe travels, friends!

When I came in the afternoon from work, nice weather pulled me and I went on a loop around Donačka g. and to the summit via chains. The path on the south side is mostly bare and not too muddy, on the north side and towards Rudi's hut there is 10-15cm compacted snow where acrobatics help not to slip, caution still needed.

On Saturday I again in beautiful weather hiked the mentioned path to Ptujska gora. Path super marked. From Rudi's hut to Ptujska gora I spent four hours. Last part of the path a dog accompanied me. Views very beautiful, we'll surely return to these areas. Heartfelt greeting
