In the description of the secured path B. Biondi on hribi.net it says that it is possible to climb after the via ferrata using the cable only for protection, whereby the grade is between 3 and 4, crux 5a/b. I didn't notice the latter on the path, free climbing the traverse that reminded me of Ljubljana's Roman Wall would be quite interesting, if it weren't for the artificial steps that are damn 'polished' and slippery. Since climbing shoes stayed in the backpack, the whole thing was even more slippery, so for free climbing I'd recommend using climbing shoes. Nos isn't hard either, but if someone doesn't feel at home in these grades, it's much safer if the cable also serves as progress aid, as distances between pegs are significantly longer. Holds in the first via ferrata are typically coastal, lots of pockets, pinches, nice underclings and sidepulls, while in Nos the rock is more 'blocky'.

13.4. climbed Bruno Biondi route east-west, then via ferrata Roze to top of adjacent wall, down Nos and back via Brunot reverse. Climbed only rock, used cable for protection. Total with stops 2h20min. Nice via ferrata for training.

On Saturday visited Glinščica another way, from Kroglje village. On ascent to Vrh Griže detour to Krogljanska cave and checked it, descent past Comicija and Marija na Pečeh to Boljunec. Great outing!

If last Sunday eastern Slovenia was the right choice, today Primorska was a good decision. Got some sun too, otherwise windy day smelling of spring.
Start from parking at Mario Premuda hut, ascent to Mali Kras, nice walk along edge, descent to Comicijev monument and St. Mary in Pečeh church. Continue to Botač (inn open), ascent to old railway track and along it to Draga village. In Draga turn back, up to summit plateau, some time on it then down one terrace and along road to Hrvati hamlet. From there to viewpoint above Zabrežec and back to car. About 4.5 hours walking. Bora messed only hair, not mood. velik nasmeh

Conditions in the high mountains are as they are, and we decided on a spring tour to Primorska. We would have made a mistake if we hadn't gone. Tinky and Matej were there for the first time and enjoyed climbing the ferrata Bruno Biondi. Peace and quiet, windless warm weather, nothing to add, whoever knows it... super morning in good company.

Saturday, 10.3.2018

Snow conditions tricky where I wanted to go, weather forecast bad, so with princess drove to sea again. Glinščica never disappoints and didn't this time. Weather ok, views plenty, crowds surprisingly few. Really nice day nasmeh

Parked a bit below upper viewpoint and went along walkway through tunnels then down "Friendship Path" to waterfall. Waterfall quite impressive, lots of water in catchment.
Then ascent direct up gully to Comicijev monument. Rock in gully quite wet, so took left side passages. From top descend Comicijev ridge, mostly dry, to lower path. Then ascent past lower viewpoint and through Zabrežec village back to car.
Weather first foggy, then partly cleared. mežikanje

In this weird winter, ok...

In the morning I wandered around Sežana and on the way back "dropped in" to the Glinščica river valley.
Parked in the village Hrvati and along the old railway track into the valley to the waterfall. At 15 there was also the first mass this year in the little church of St. Mary.
Many visitors in the valley, temperatures already quite spring-like mežikanje

There were quite a few plans at the beginning of the week, but in the end this was the best choice. To start, Sandi and I warmed up a bit on the Bruno Biondi and NOS ferratas. The weather was sunny and warm, maybe a little breeze. When we finished, I heard from Borut who was heading to the Comici ridge in Glinščica. We quickly decided and accepted the invitation. So the day was perfect, at the end also to the waterfall and back home.
