Currently there is still snow, which the rain is melting, making soggy/muddy terrain partially dangerous for slipping. I recommend waiting with the ascent until dry (or fully winter) weather.

Thanks for the information, we'll follow the weather forecast, but for sure we'll go to Golica for the snow.

Van Sims' writing is either seven months too late, or five months too early. Of course it regularly happens to him.

That one will go perfectly fine all the way, the female hiker from yesterday heard them right away. Women on this forum aren't really welcome, sadly

Pikica1, I agree... VanSims could hang his posts on commented trips not on current conditions, because they don't help anyone, unless you need a couple months to prepare for the tour. Otherwise I like his writing and gladly read it... here it's like pulling skeletons out of the closet

Yeah if it's not right and you give current conditions, they just throw you to history... "topic will be moved" 2/2...

They didn't move you because "it's not right", but because the topic for this peak is already open. And you're not in history either, but under current conditions. You're not the only one it happened to. Even "old-timers" overlook it and move us, which is the only correct thing so topics don't duplicate and there's better clarity on the forum.

I'm curious about the trail condition on Golica? What are the current conditions on the path? Thanks for the reply!

On Thursday I went to Suho sedlo. Parked at Pristava, with chains you can drive to Križovec, then trodden via Pusti Rovt. From junction to Bevsko planina towards Golica no one has gone yet.

Today a loop tour in the home mountains: Betel - summer path to hut - Golica - Krvavka - Suho saddle - Križovc - Španov vrh - Rovte. Conditions excellent, crampons not needed. The whole path snowy, but not icy. Bare only the path from hut to ridge and under Krvavka. Who wants a loop tour, go up from hut, descend via Krvavka to Suho as east side has lots of snow and path not too trodden.

Sunday, 26.2.2017 From Planina pod Golico to Golica summit. Lots of snow pleasures, below the hut some "trampling" in new snow! Top !! Real winter fairy tale!
