The entire hiking path along the Slovenian transversale from Maribor to Slovenj Gradec is about 60 kilometers long. Since Kremžarjev vrh is right above Sl.Gradec, the path to there is shorter by only about 5 km. So about 55 km one way or 110 both ways. Time-wise, those 12 hours one way will hold but only at a very fast pace.
All together in two days will be quite strenuous.

Hello!
From Friday to Saturday I plan to cross Pohorje in a shortened variant: 1st day Mb(hotel Bellevue)-Mariborska koča-Ruška koča-Klopni vrh; 2nd day: Klopni vrh-Lovrenška jezera-Ribniška koča-Črni vrh-Mislinja. I'm interested in your experiences with the hut on Klopni vrh for overnight stay or do you rather recommend the Dom na Pesku. Will there be a bonfire organized somewhere? And how many hours on average per day between the listed points?

Hi. About the hut on Klopni vrh only the best (last year slept there), just book! Dom na Pesku more tavern, many people by car. On Klopni feel in nature.

Today, in nice morning weather, with my "better" half, we drove to Razvanje near Maribor. From there we started on foot to Maribor Pohorje and then further to Areh. Of course back too.
Total 25 nice and pleasant km of walking in nature, which at the top of Pohorje is just waking up.

Soon I plan to hike the transversal path across Pohorje. Since it is my first time, I ask if someone can send me some photos of the path; then I am interested where it is best to sleep (in case of 2 days). I plan to go from Slovenj Gradec towards Maribor, so where in Slovenj Gradec to start the path to Pohorje and how far one can get in one day at moderate-medium pace. Thanks!

Check here - times are written. We hiked contra (Pohorje - Kope) on page 1 and 2. With that you can help yourself somewhat. Where to start?
From Kremžarca, or from Kop.
For sleeping the best option is midway (that's Pesek or Klopni vrh). On Pesek it's hard over the weekend for accommodation (at least a week before reserve).
You must buy the Pohorje map and take it with you!!!
On Pohorje you can easily stray. Hard to orient, mostly forest. Otherwise well marked (still - MAP with you!!) if anything else interests you, ask.

Bolfenk - Areh approx. 2 hours

starling - approximate times according to SPP:
*Slovenj Gradec (city center)- Hut on Kremžarjev vrh: 2 h
*Grmovškov hut under Velika Kopa: 2 h 45
*Ribniška koča: 1h 45 min
*Rogla (no alpine huts): 3 h
*Ruška koča on Areh: 5 h 30 min
*Mariborska koča: 1 h
*Upper station of Pohorje cableway: 45 min
Pohorje cableway runs from 08:00 to 20:00, one-way ticket 8 EUR, last ride at 22:00. If you miss it, another 1 h walk to valley. So best to overnight at Rogla, but sadly no mountain huts there.

One more thing: we usually started the hike across Pohorje (to Slovenj Gradec) in Maribor by taking the first cableway ride, slept at Ribniška koča - time-wise it worked best. Enjoy the hike!

According to my experience, the best is to overnight at Pesek for two-day tour, but careful there too as they can close doors five minutes before 9 PM (personal exp.). Tour from Maribor can end day 1 at Klopnem vrh. Nicest time for this route around Oct 1-15, nice autumn colors and plenty of mushrooms.

First question. Do I have to go from Slovenj Gradec to Maribor via Rogla? Think there's shorter path without Rogla.
My plan: Probably 3-4 go, none crossed Pohorje yet.
If group changes mind I'll go alone. Alone maybe one day. Fit, just ran marathon in Radenci, last year some hikes (day trip Poljčane-Boč-Donačka gora-back...) so no problem. Only issue don't know path.
If overnight: day1 morning/noon to Slovenj Gradec, after coffee to Ribniška koča sleep. Day2 to Maribor all foot no gondola etc., live at Pohorje foot walk home.

No need via Rogla, can go via Mašinžaga direct to Pesek, but no big gain.
From Sl. Gradec to Kop approx 13 km walk.
If don't know path take Pohorje map anyway, orientation tough for newbies in Pohorje forests.

The path is well marked and you won't get lost, except fog on Ribniški vrh and Lovrenška lakes. Map is standard gear. Can be done in one day. Start from SL. Gradec to Kop good 3h +1h to Ribniška. Ribniška to MB 10h (alone 2-3h less).

One more thing!
I'm closest to sleeping at Pesek. So I ask for approx. time at normal, medium pace from Slovenj Gradec to Ribniška koča and then to Pesek. Need info to not arrive at Pesek too late, since we plan to start from Slovenj Gradec around 13:00.

From Kop to Ribniška ca 1.5h, Ribniška koča-Pesek ca 3.5h. This time is for moderate pace. If fast, then shorter time. Time from Slovenj Gradec to Kop I don't know. From Slovenj Gradec to Kop Zokica already told you.
