How much are the shoes in the picture worth, if anything (new they were probably around 110€)? - bought November 2011, per label in shoe October 2010 vintage; - since didn't need them then, immediately coated with tjuln grease, stuffed with newspaper and stored in original box in attic; - first time tested longer (few hours) February 2016, but don't fit, so would sell and buy something better suited. Alpina Tibet 6705-1

Are you serious? For 6-year-old shoes?! No way, 110 euros if that's what you meant. More like "give away and hope someone takes them, otherwise I'll use for kindling..."

Why not? I sold my 12-year-old ones for 25eur and they were some crappy brand, bought them in store for 60eur back then. So probably get 50eur no problem if new were 110eur. Especially Tibet is excellent Alpine model, if I'm not mistaken their best selling hiking boot.

@Klemen, I see you buy too. Aren't mine right for you? It says 43.5 but all my other shoes are 42, so more suitable for someone who usually wears 42-42.5.

@Branee, translation for those who can't read minds? @JusAvgustin, yes seriously, since I don't know about this, otherwise wouldn't ask.

Haven't bought used shoes yet, so now too I'd rather pay a few eur more and take new, so unfortunately not interested. Even if I were I'd have to come try them, add a few eur more and try right size in store and take. Leaning towards Tibet V myself (think newer model, if not mistaken?) or VX 955 supposedly similar to Tibet but less durable and lighter. Thanks anyway for offer, suggest you post ad with realistic price and they'll go quick, especially since excellent model that's sought after.

Today I bought new Alpina Tibet boots size 43 and the saleswoman said wear them at home around the house for a few hours to see if they pinch, if not ok can bring back and take a larger size. Currently wearing them for about an hour and they're ok, but don't know how it'd be hiking downhill, since now on flat can't move toes (can wiggle 1-2mm that's it) so afraid maybe half size too small? Is it right they're "like a glove"? There's some space in the front of the shoe, top maybe 1-2mm. Otherwise very happy with the boots. Thanks for the help.

I don't know.. They are super when walking, in the store I also tried them on that "device" for mountain simulation, they were cool too, the only thing that bothers me is that I can't wiggle my toes up and down.. from the toes to the beginning of the shoe there's still space.. But I'm afraid a bigger shoe would be looser, which isn't OK either..

Never had problems with tibet, just don't forget to grease them.

I have spray to spray them, so I won't forget. Thanks for the advice. What about the inside? Enough space for toes? I'll probably exchange for half a size larger.

Well, in winter it's good to wiggle toes a bit when it's a little cold.. I have winter boots one size larger, while for summer half a size is enough (of course it depends on the model). If they're uncomfortable at home already, maybe you should really exchange them... Best!

Interested if anyone has experience with LOWA Vantage II mid GTX shoes. I have good heavy boots (LaSportiva), but need lighter ones for shorter and easier daily hikes. Girlfriend has similar ones, with which she walks a lot for three years and they're still usable. Practically indestructible! Thanks in advance for the reply! http://www.onlineshoes.com/mens-lowa-vantage-gtx-mid-anthracite-yellow-p_id382026 This is the first web page that came up, which I pasted just so you can see the model.

About 2 months ago I bought Alpino Tibet and don't know why after every hike the right boot rubs me, always in one spot (big toe). Not bad since mostly short hikes (3-4h) and during walk almost not felt (on descent felt but not too bad), more worried what on longer tour wearing all day. What could be the problem and solution? Done many short hikes so should be broken in, right?

It's not said that shoes are guilty for everything. We too have various flaws and mistakes. Good that everything works so considering how we treat the body sometimes.

Kleemen, too short shoe. Or toenail too long

If the toenail is too long, you can lose it quickly, even if it doesn't hurt much. Not to be trifled with! Shoes you seriously hike in (i.e. more than to the opera) MUST be so big they don't pinch anywhere at all. Not even a bit!
