Absolutely without...because in summer you'll have a real flood inside, even if the sun is shining outside...membrane only in cold conditions...

If you're hiking off-trail too, definitely not without membrane.

That with membrane they are warmer/hotter is not a rule. I have some without membrane but they are hot as hell, while two others from different manufacturers with membrane are noticeably cooler.

Make sure it fits your foot well, so it won't be in ads in a week.

Astronavt - the first two models are suitable for winter. So, if you want a high boot, definitely the third model.

Alpinini boots have (for me) too stiff a sole, so looking for some low-cost replacement. Not for mountains, but more for up to 30-minute walks and for work. The ones from Hofer are quite suitable ("waterproof" shouldn't be taken seriously), but a bit too low (no ankle protection) and currently nothing on offer. They have some in Mani too, but with those the tongue shifts completely aside and needs frequent fixing. Where do you buy low-cost ones?

@javrhrib - try Gelert boots (Sports Direct stores).

I have Proalp winter Kanin which are ok for walking except they almost always get soaked no matter what I impregnate with. I also have their low Kofce, which are fine for walking (except the insole shifts in the boot, which isn't good for downhill). Price/quality ratio I'd say wasn't the best investment. For summer high mountains I have Scarpa Marmolada Trek for second year, very comfortable and so far no problems. Since every foot is different it's important to test the boot in store as long as possible and if not 100% sure, better not take it. Narrow models suit me, wider for others, some chafe feet, others not... Yes, I also have those I sold after two wears...

Buy a sufficiently large and wide model, you'll reach the top without pain. Best, J

That Alpina model I pictured, I wore all last summer in high mountains. Very good boot to wear. Doesn't blister or pinch. If you wear low shoes in summer. Now it opens at front. Seems it did its job. And not meaning to advertise Alpina, because their boots aren't as good anymore since made abroad. They're cheaper, and often have discounts.

I have Trango TRK leather, but only for winter into snow. For me too hot for summer, too high and too clumsy.

@djimuzl - I have Gelert from Sports Direct now, but I'd try some others because the sole profile wore down to zero very quickly so now until I get new ones I'm using them with gel insoles, otherwise it feels like walking barefoot on concrete. The "waterproof" label I don't know what it's supposed to mean, they get soaked even walking on wet grass. For now I'm tempted to get something via wish.com. Does anyone have experience buying from this website? P.S.: where in this forum do you set email notifications for new messages?
