Oh! I don't know which model they are. They were bought in Hervis. One week ago they still had them, current price if I'm not mistaken is 100 euros.

hehe, jumping from one type of boots to another. Summer boot differs significantly from winter and vice versa. Won't lecture, we make decisions ourselves and bear the consequences (pain or without it ). Fact is the following: purpose, suitable for shorter winter tours, I believe they (still) don't leak, maintenance and storage are also important. These definitely are not boots for serious winter tours (climbing ascents), couloirs, climbing etc... They are quite decent hiking boots with Gore-Tex membrane, sufficiently thick leather and relatively good sole. For people (to avoid the dilemma who is mountaineer and who hiker ), who seriously hike in mountains in winter (10-hour tours or more) in my opinion not suitable. Those who hike will support me, those who don't probably think what this "kid" is babbling. Speaking from own experiences. Not pleasant. At the end something about price range, our favorite topic. Like it or not, good winter boot starts above 200 euros. http://www.garmont.com/eng/outdoor/prodotti_index.php?id=120 http://www.lasportiva.com/catalogue/catalogo.php?cat=1&Language=EN and many other manufacturers In the new year I wish you many adventures and especially thoughtful steps, and lots of health. Mine is currently failing...

Simple question for old mountain cats like you here, but we don't know what it is: otherwise comfy alpine boot, nothing rubs, one size larger than usual, wears two socks, uphill super, downhill presses toes; tie them tiiiight!! around ankle, still, please good advice (if someone thinks of long nails... hehe trimmed ), thanks and best regards.

maybe insoles for the shoe would help they work well for me

pohodnici53, I don't know much about boots, but I think your boot is too wide, the foot despite strong lacing is not secured and slides forward, I suggest a narrower boot model, otherwise most retailers master these things well, so I suggest everyone turns to an experienced retailer at purchase, if none in the store, change the store because they obviously don't know how to sell.

Geolog 79, thanks for the information. I appreciate both young and us "old" hikers or whatever we are... )) Every boot rubs me because I have a problematic foot. And now I'm going from store to store... not seeking low price, but sufficiently wide model of solid quality. Wish everyone safe step, which is so important these days. Gina

You're not old until you stretch horizontally and can't stand up anymore! I urge you to try a Scarpa or La Sportiva model (known for being wider in the sole). I have flatfoot (comparison with Jože Pučnik airport) but it fits the foot so joj! without insoles... I have La Sportiva Karakorum Pro GTX. Wishing you find suitable shoes, best regards.

Thanks to all for the advice; so there's no mistake, by old cats I meant rich hiking experience not age; anyway, who likes going to the mountains has a young heart;

Can someone tell why they don't make hiking boots so you buy the foot size you wear? Why do you need to buy 1 size larger boot? Yes so toes not bang when walking, but that pulls wider heel too. Why don't manufacturers make boot of "right" size that has more toe space, rest as it should be?

Does anyone have info how much La Sportiva Nepal EVO GTX cost in Papisport? Here I can't get my shoe size. To them about 130 km, wonder if worth sitting in car and driving there. Somewhere read they speak Slovenian too, is that real info? Their page doesn't offer much info except open on Sundays too.

What's the size if not a secret? boots made from size 37-48. On sale here 260 euros -25%, instead of 347... Papisport page offers no info! Many Igliusport stores in Slovenia, sure you'll find them here unless sold out.

For Iglu call one of the stores, they'll tell you where the boot is still in stock and in which sizes.

Thanks for the response. I've already exhausted all those options. I was at Iglu and Anapurna. In both stores they were very friendly and engaged, but they don't have size 47, unfortunately. tol that price tempted me too when I saw it on Iglu's page. Otherwise I tried LS Extreme and Karakorum, the shape should be the same, if I'm not mistaken. What about Hervis in Klagenfurt, do they stock such boots, because at our Hervis they don't. Regards

Can they be ordered, did they tell you that? Call Iglu and inquire about it, but if you do that there won't be a discount. No, Hervis (nowhere) stocks them. Italy is an option. They have them there , otherwise Karakorum Pro GTX, also veeeeeery good boot. I don't know others. Lp

I personally have the best experience with Spider GTX boots. You can buy them at AVVENTURA store in Trieste (Via Madonna del Mare 21 - old town, small street). The sellers also speak a bit of Slovenian. LP

@firealarm If you get any info where to get La Sportiva boots at a good price please report. I'm looking for Nepal Extreme (47-47.5) and they're also not available here, or the "full" prices at Iglu are a bit high.
