Homemade goodies

That's why it's best to buy bread where it's most like homemade. If we bake homemade bread at least once, we'll find it easily (by the characteristic smell) in some of the countless bakeries too. Without ads and such crap!
Such bakeries are rare though.

After an afternoon sunny bike ride, I tried walnut pie for the first time.
Making it isn't hard, not too short either, a shade easier than potica.
To the pie I added quite a bit of authentic stuff, like home-grown walnuts, fresh eggs from farmer buddy, Ferina flour, brown sugar, lemon zest and juice, Prekmurje butter, vanilla sugar. For making I used Google recipe - Gurman and in 1h 40min finished the model for the oven. Dough must rest half an hour in fridge first. Grease the oven, cover bottom with dough, spread a layer of jam over it, blueberry for me, distribute walnut filling over all that, cut lattice strips from 1/3 remaining rolled dough and cover the top of the pie with them.jezik

Final decoration with strands of dough2
The pie is fragrantly crispy baked3

Viharnik, with what did you scald the walnuts? At our place, the custom is with milk, for potica for example, I prefer with real coffee, in Vipava they use sour cream. If you don't scald them, they get bitter and all effort is in vain.lp

In the pie recipe, just mix them with sugar and stiffly beaten egg whites, don't know more, but the pie smells nice.

Yes, should try this homemade specialty. In the mouth it crumbles softly with excellent taste too, I added two lemon zests.
Otherwise not the prettiest piece on the plate, because it's the first taken from the tray, unfortunatelymrk pogled

Not much pie left, ate some myself with mom, gave some to brother and invited a friend.
According to recipe the sugar addition to walnut mass is noticeably too much, I reduced amount to 150g and even that showed as too much. Rest from Gurman recipe - yellow page on Google holds. Pie is crumblier also because of walnut composition, but it's crumbly and tasty always better than some "soles".velik nasmeh

We'd really appreciate your stuff on Kulinarika, where recipes are posted and photos added too.

Viharnik, you are a versatile specialist. Our mouths are watering. You should be the supplier at some mountain hut or farm tourism, to pamper us like this.

Lino and Dejan, as said, lighter than beans, time consumption still two hours though, because the dough has to rest in the fridge for half an hour. Important is that ingredients are as home-made as possible and to put in some positive vibrations too.
About organic food one could discuss more, but as long as planes fly over us, various waste, degraded soil with fertilizers, genetic seeds, changed climate, at the end of the talk only organic prices remain.
Calories, yes for office moths fruit and some whole-grain bread sandwich would be more appropriate, for heavyweights calories are no problem, we burn them all, if not elsewhere, in the mountains.
Holy Mother said that in India people eat so much sugar that the spoon stands upright, but they don't get any diseases from it, because they live a spiritually full life without stress.
Ultimately our materialistic, technological development of society is to blame for diseases, where physically almost nothing is done anymore. Prevalent is only trade, bills and office administration, where employees just wait at computers for some customer to come to them. The body alone should be fully physically burdened every day at least for an hour and a half.zadrega

Viharnik. On the mountain forum you type how we don't move enough. Interesting. Looks like we also go to the mountains only with a finger on the map. And believe me, after 8 hours in the office it's best to spend a few hours in the fresh air. And believe me, if everyone lived like you and as you philosophize we should, we'd still be in the Middle Ages. But, here I opened a healthy food forum and not healthy philosophizing.

Gorolazka, does anyone force you to sit in the office, expand your horizons and realize potentials in yourself. Discussing whether food is appropriate or not is completely secondary. A healthy person and organism is itself capable in metabolism to take from food what is good and excrete what is not. The most important of all is the spiritual food of man, of which there is unfortunately very little in our society, of course, if you don't free yourself, spiritually ascend from the gray average and connect with the source, Godnasmeh

Amen. But why do you post pie photos, since food isn't important. But why do you hang on the net, since technology only spoils people. But why do you post the attic, since material things aren't important. But why do you type how much something costs, since money is dirty... clean up at yourself first then preach to others.

I do all that so I don't get bored in this world. Real yogis have enough half an hour of meditation daily, 15 min in the morning and evening before sleep. We work to create something ourselves and be unattached to material things or unconditional on everything that surrounds us, since we are pure spirit, atma. But I don't understand why my pie bothers you, because your bread doesn't bother me at all and the attic, which a good year ago was just a dusty loft with some 0.2l bottle. Alakota from 67 from the bricklayers in the corner. Go just a little bit on my path, then you'll also know how to appreciate and respect.

Viharnik I'm no sheep to follow you. Everyone has their own path. The pita didn't bother me until you started philosophizing that healthy food is secondary. And that the body is self-cleansing. If you eat too much unhealthy food it surely can't cleanse it all. You just eat whatever you like.
