Today we went to Kališče, given the weather it couldn't be anything but wonderful. Up top it was a bit windy, but not too much. The hut keeper is a friendly chap, there should be more like him in our huts!

For Women's Day there was even champagne

Today I was at Kališče, started from Laški.

The marked path is in the first part (to Košuta hospital) due to fallen trees in very bad condition and is locally hard to pass, even if we stray a bit off the path. From the hospital on the path is super, especially today it was already quite summery at the top and really a great pleasure.

To the Kališče hut there are paths from several directions. The most common is from Mače, used by most hikers to this popular spot. Nice is the path from Jezersko from Jekarica. From Bašelj we have two options. We can go via Sv. Lovrenc directly up the slope and at the junction already high up to the right, straight goes unmarked path to Storžič, left to Javornik pasture. Even nicer is also from Bašelj past Košuta hospital. From Mače there is also a less known path via Kozjek. We start likewise at the parking in Mače and then along the usual forest road to the junction. Here a nice wooden sculpture directs us to the right. We go past the lower station of the cableway. Pleasant path soon brings us to Kozjek area. Here signposts direct us left to Kališče. The path runs nicely along the slope and then descends below Kališče. Here snow lingers long. Then follows the final steep ascent to Kališče. Not much snow, it's fully south-facing. It was nice sunny weather-views towards Storžič unique.

At first we go along a nice forest road.

The path leads past the lower station of the cargo cableway to the hut Na Kališču.

Currently, the path ahead has not yet been cleared.

Among the spruces we already spot Kališče.

From this vantage point, the hut is rarely photographed.

As the path climbs the hill, the snow runs out.

Gradišče-Kališče, up the unmarked is normally passable, down past partisan hospital Košuta, where over the path only a couple trees that hardly obstruct walking, one can get past... today only dew-slippery rocks and roots obstructed...

To Kališče today I didn't reach, but somehow got to halfway. Up I went from Laški to Gradišče on steep unmarked path up and at junction with marked path already down. On marked path but not past Košuta hospital, but at monuments to the left. This track joins the marked path at the torrent bed. Unmarked path is cleared. This path back-from the bed upwards not fully cleared, but fallen trees can somehow be bypassed. Weather April-like, path muddy, slippery, especially the steep unmarked one.

Cars can already be parked at the parking lot above Laško.

Wide mountain road leads to the parking lot at Gradišče, in between there are plenty of new sections of forest roads.

This is the Gradišče sign. Here there was a smaller fortified military outpost in the tenth century.

Today it is apparently a recreational facility - I don't know.

This could be a well - at least it looks like one.

Junction with marked trail. We are halfway to Kališče here.

Here I prefer to head down - it's raining.

Once we fight through the fallen trees we reach a cleared section.

Today I was actually looking for avrikelj and also found extensive habitats.

Few people even know the kranjsko buniko or kranjski volčič. It is a poisonous plant. The flower is dark brown-violet.

hi,

I'm interested in the conditions for hiking to the Dom na Kališču. Is there still any snow, or how much? Next week I plan to circle Kališče, Kriška gora, Dobrča and I'm interested in the conditions, if anyone has been up there these days. If the weather stays like this, it'll probably be snow-free already or not.

Today to Kališče up the usual path from Mač, down past Kozjek.

At the start of the path a known artwork greets us.

Muddy shoes must be cleaned before the wooden bridge, otherwise the bridge will be slippery from mud.

In the forest buzzing from saws - last year's glaze ice will leave long-term traces.

I don't remember if I saw this the last time I went up.

The markacisti take exemplary care of the safe path.

We're already here - beautiful thing - it always impresses me.

We can even see how much time we took to get here.

I arrived at the Spodnje Kališče highland.

Pull the wish bell - all wishes come true. I made three wishes. I'll see if anything happens.

Just this little staircase and we'll be at the hut on Kališče.

I would go up if it weren't in the clouds.

Below the hut on Kališče primroses bloom in the rocks.

Down to Kozjek. It's pleasant to walk a bit differently than up - highly recommend.

As a finale, a butterfly from Kališče - it posed gratefully for me.

This morning on a beautiful sunny day I went to Kališče. Up and down I went on the usual path from Mač. Around the bench on the path with date 2012 the snow starts. At eight in the morning it was hard, not icy. On the way back it had already softened. I didn't need crampons, but you need to have them on such paths. At the hut there's a lot of snow. No one going towards Storžič was seen. Weather sunny, views excellent.
