Kališče

Nothing much, worth congratulatingvelik nasmeh
I always politely step aside for the faster ones, so I have no problems with that.
What bothered me most about the timetables is that the same time is listed at the start and then at the hut for the descent, 1.30, when the pace to the valley is faster.
LP!

@jprim: you're observing superficially and then criticizing. At the starting point at the parking lot the time to Kališče is listed as 2 hours (see picture 2 in the route description you attached), at the junction at the little bridge 1 h 30 min (picture 6), for the return from Kališče to Mač it's listed as 1h 30 min. All fine.

I wouldn't interfere in your conversations. But you have to realize that the times for hiking in the mountains are written for some average ability of individuals. How long someone walks on which path depends entirely on the individual person. Some enjoy slow walking, others rushing, some see nature too, others only their goal and walking time. So don't argue about what time is written on the sign, but let everyone walk as they think is right. And don't judge either the slow or the fast ones, if you want to love the mountains, everyone will adjust the walking to their needs and thus have the desire and joy to continue visiting the mountains and the paths they love, not hate them because they can't overtake anyone and show off with their exceptional time. People are different anyway and that should be knowledge for all. Whoever likes to show off, shouldn't despise others, slower than themselves.

In the former country, when there were still border guards at the border and you couldn't or weren't allowed to just go into the mountains in the border zone, the best signpost was on Jezersko, I think for the Czech hut. Besides the written time needed to the hut, there was a note: "Ako trčiš" velik nasmeh

Bojan.
In the former country, movement in the border zone was - ALLOWED.
Nowhere, really nowhere did I have problems moving to the border peaks. Even if we take peaks from Matajur via Kanin to Mangart and along the ridges to Tromeja and from there along the Karawanks peaks to Košenjak.
Read Tomazin's book where he clearly wrote how they smuggled from Austria. But he didn't write the full list of smuggled goods.
I myself have a nice memory from the time of military service in Bovec in 1971.
We soldiers were renovating paths for PD Bovec on Kanin, Prestreljenik, Rombon and more. When we arrived at the top of Kanin while marking, there was a larger group of Italian Alpinists. We immediately made contacts (hands hurt a bit from gesturing) We exchanged snacks and drank their wine together. At parting there was some hugging.
Of course I experienced other adventures, but really never was movement in the border zone forbidden to me. If I had some other needs, I could calmly cross the border.

I from that early childhood, so still from Yugoslavia, remember only that the markings on "border" paths were marked with an additional green border. But there was no talk that you couldn't walk there.

Trobec, you could see those only on the border with Austria, on the Italian border with us as far as I remember there weren't any. Anyway as Julius says, you really had to have bad luck to run into some overzealous member of the border units and then problems could arise. They once stopped our group on the descent from Golica but more because of the company since there were girls in the group. In the 50s and 60s it was of course different; in Mirna I remember the border-barbed wire diagonally across the cemeteryeekzavijanje z očmimrk pogled, Well then with Osimo they fixed that

Yes, and in the border zone movement was allowed from dawn until dusk, which was written in the PZS membership card (booklet).

New manager has already been selected, he should arrive up there when they repair the cargo cableway and stock the hut with firewood for heating.

So!
If fortune favors us somewhere by the end of 2024. Excuses about the cable car are really good. These are typical Slovenian excuses. Something similar we heard also for the Kanin cable car.
On the Gore-Ljudje site read the critical article by a Kališče visitor and also the response of PD Kranj president (a bit roundabout, a bit across, a bit vegetables, hardly about facts or nothing).
You know how that brothel joke goes - If things go bad there, the madam changes the girls and not the beds.
Have a nice time.
Oh, this year we experienced so far an unseen record of closed mountain huts in the entire season.
Just in Posočje were closed: Hut at the source of the Soča, Klemen Juga Hut in Lepena, Gomišček shelter on Krn, Hut on Kanin.

This year we ran into quite a few closed huts ... you hope to enjoy a bit of a break from hiking, give the hut some euros .... la, la, la, song without music ...
That's why we started preferring to hike across the border, where huts are privately owned, ... even at 2300 open winter and year.
