Was up May 1. One short patch you cross mid ascent from Pastirci, some more below summit. May 1 snow softened enough no crampons needed, but in backpack. Good luck, Saša

@Bojan A: There's no Kamniško sedlo anywhere on this pic... The pic is probably from the path to Mrzli dol or Turski žleb. It shows Grlo, Rjavčki vrh, Ojstrica and Krofička. Nicely caught a small avalanche from Mrzla gora.

Thanks. Oops, true. But Kamniško sedlo slightly visible on pic - quite a lot of snow.

Ok, super. How from south side, from Kamniška Bistrica? Any big difference?

There's a bit less snow on this side. It's already melted to the shepherds' huts, up there it's not too bad either, but everything is soaked.

On Saturday, 31.5., a tree fell across the path just minutes from the start. Despite the well-cleared path, caution still applies! I really got scared when a tree fell right behind me without any special reason... Safe and careful in the mountains everyone. lp.j.

This morning from home in Kamniška Bistrica to Kamniško Saddle... Path is fine. Weather cloudy, occasionally cleared a bit and sun peeked out... and a little breeze is standard at these heights, right? Anyway, nice morning hike.

Hi Boštjan! Is the path dry to the saddle?

Hi Valerija, path is completely dry, so just happily on your way. Under the top there's a bit longer snow tongue, but path goes nicely by... so - if you want snow play, go a bit off path. But yeah, quite a bit lower you really need 2 meters' length over snow or path goes nicely under snow patch ... so: path dry and totally ok!

Today at Kamnik Saddle. The goal was actually Brana, but the strong wind blew away the ascent, which started blowing around 1600 m high, gusting. At the hut I learn that some hikers today already turned back and gave up on Brana, which I did too considering the strong wind and the apparently quite frozen north side. I walked around the top of the saddle and despite the wind enjoyed the beautiful views. As for the path it's trodden and without issues, in the forest especially lower down it's quite icy in the morning at certain spots, higher up the snow is non-problematic for walking. Despite the wind wonderful day in the mountains.

If anyone was at K. saddle end of last week, let me know how the path is. Are crampons needed? Thanks!
