Almost two years no one up there!? Of course I'm joking, as this destination is one of the most visited in the mid-mountains. I'm posting so that a competent person answers me why the hut is closed in ideal, almost summer conditions. From Simon (summer warden) I got assurance that during nice weekends in the dead season someone will be on duty. Unfortunately here nothing pays off (and in these circumstances I've saved a few euros again)

Really, Kamnik Saddle in nice weather is not deserted. It's suitable for a few-hour hike and now everything is awaiting the snow shipment and even better: On the saddle three chamois are grazing.

Today at Kamniško saddle. Path to Pastirji completely dry and snow-free. Further on, everything frozen in the morning up to the saddle. Snow only in some places, some ice in between, doable without winter gear. In just over two hours the sun did its job, descent on wet snow and muddy path almost to Pastirji.
Overall, today was one of the best days this year. Shame to stay home.

After Sunday's running Grintavec nice walk to Jerca and Simon. Morning hike is real pleasure when sun still hides behind Planjava. No morning dew, path dry and soft. Two pearsand back to valley before it gets too hot.

Yesterday, visiting Jerca and Simon. Their permit expires next weekend, if the weather holds, then 14.10. Road above the hut in KB is in Tim Gajser style at two spots.

Road except two bends quite good (no entry sign below posing nicely). Path slightly frozen, snow starts at Pastirci, at Kamrc 10 cm, higher a bit more, wind of course did its thing. During my visit about 12 visitors came by. Appeal to always lock inner doors in winter room too. Despite sunny conditions (though quite drafty) no one headed to Brana or Planjava, as current snow is very unpleasant.

Today after the rain a beautiful day formed. Snow starts halfway on the path from Klin to the spring. From Pastirci to the top alternating drifted (sometimes almost to the knees) and down to grass windblown snow. Crampons not needed today, icy only the trail right under the summit, which you can avoid. On descent sky cloudless, at Pastirci fell into fog again.
