Ascent to Kamniški Peak along Rožica (at path end straight over steep rocky-grassy step - had to test new 'boots' ), descent along beautiful traverse from Rožica top to Bosova Šija. Traverse across steep hayfields to start. Entirely dry.

On night hikes I always experience something new. Midway up the ascent, left of the scree I meet a sleeping wild rabbit. The rabbit doesn't move at all from shock, so I got to pet it a bit. Night clear, cold and windy (summit -3) View wonderful. Aim was to learn some night photography. Of course I was behind those at home during the day, since I was at work all day. LP Grega

I'm wondering if any girl would go with me to Kamnik Peak sometime. My name is Robinson, I'm friendly and warm-hearted.

If Boč was a problem, it could be even worse on Kamniški Peak... I wish you lots of enjoyment and as little pain as possible.

Just got down from Kamniški Peak. Temperature inversion, but I didn't expect such high temperatures at all. At the hut (bivouac) on the summit of Kamniški Peak, the thermometer showed 32 !?! °C (admittedly part of the thermometer was exposed to the sun, but still), realistically around 10 °C. Tomorrow temperatures will be a bit higher, I think I'll go even higher alone too...

Tol: In Kamnik the thermometer showed 2.5 degrees Celsius, in Županje njive 1, in Klemenčevo, where the road was frozen in the sun, 1 degree, up there... yeah later it was actually 10 degrees in Kamnik, I know it's general warming, but how will you explain the following facts I mentioned? I can only explain it as inversion.

I add some more to this topic, although it doesn't belong under this heading: Thermal reversal is an expression better known as temperature inversion. During thermal reversal, lower temperatures occur in the lower parts of the Earth's atmosphere while temperature rises with altitude. The phenomenon is often accompanied by a layer of fog lying at the bottom of the valley, in winter rain at sub-zero temperatures and thus also black ice. This weather phenomenon mostly occurs in the cold half of the year, when heavier air settles at the bottom of valleys, plains and karst depressions and sometimes persists there for weeks. Moisture in this air condenses, so a dense layer of fog forms at ground level, while higher locations have sunny and warmer weather.

The description is solid, but the name is messed up. We only know temperature reversal or inversion, turnover - they twist terms on Google-translated Wikipedia

pinkerton, I completely agree, namely I used an explanation from a source that I normally avoid from afar, but nevertheless: Although I am much more critical in such discussion segments, especially when presenting facts and arguments, the text from the mentioned website seemed sufficient to me, although with some added grammatical nonsense.

Just did the tour Bistričica - Slevo - planina Osredek - Planjava - Kamnik Peak: on Planjava approx. 10 - 15 cm snow, on Kamnik Peak much less. Descent from Kamnik reminded me of the times; that was between 82-85, when I regularly descended on old Elankas down Kobla, more or less scared shitless all the time, with a full bladder that kept warning me it would explode any moment... here and there I even managed to make some nice turns, otherwise it went straight like a "plug". When I finally dragged myself to the valley, I was infinitely glad it was over, no more talk of bladder pressure... but in the same moment I sighed in relief, I said to myself: "I want more!". Kamnik Peak is...tempting!

Today there were quite a few hikers on Kamnik Peak. The early ones probably still had some sun, while we of the sleepier kind were already walking under clouds No more snow, but lots of mud. I did a loop via Planjava and Planina Osredek, the return path there is nicer.
