Well, you can't get through here without proper crampons and ice axe (and of course knowledge) for now.

6. 8. 2019, From Zadnjica over Kanjavčeve police and circularly over Prehodavci to saddle Dol and back to the starting point in Zadnjica. Just as we sat in the vehicle a little before 18:00, it started raining harder. At the beginning of the entry to the path over the shelves there is still a small snow patch. Over the shelves it is dry. Quite eroded. And you have to be careful on the path. There are few fixed cables. On one part of the path a peg is pulled out. We didn't meet almost anyone the whole way. There was also no crowd on the mulattiera and at the parking lot in Zadnjica. Still quite a long tour. It accumulated about 1800m of elevation gain and 22 km.

The elevation data on such a nice tour really shouldn't matter, but anyway... I've noticed that quite a few contributors on hribi.net greatly exaggerate these numbers, or their watches show wrong, and because of citing these wrong data they can deter many people from the tour. 300 m up or down isn't the same for many. I added the ascent to Vršac to the mentioned tour, but it didn't accumulate more than 1500 m... !

Obviously your watch is also showing the wrong time, since in the description of the Zadnjica-Kanjavčeve police-Prehodavci route the elevation (without ascent to Vršac) is stated as 1600 m.

Officially from Zadnjica over Kanjavčeve police to Dolič past Prehodavci approx +- 1500 m. But it's true that some devices measure only height difference, some have option for total accumulated height, so every time you descend and start ascending it adds that ascent, here differences between devices can easily reach 500m, especially if the path goes over rugged ridges and peaks where you have to descend and ascend multiple times.

It's not true that there are only 1500. But 1729. You have to consider, as the previous one wrote, that you descend somewhere and then ascend again.

Has anyone gone over the ledges this year? I guess from posts of previous years, the passage is probably even more difficult?

Now it's hard to say how it is with snow. I remember on 5.7. I took a little look at what was visible and snow was visible on some parts of the path. In August it's usually snow-free. Also in the first snow patch at the entry from Dolič direction it wasn't visible that anyone was walking.

The most suitable time to visit Kanjavčeve ledges is late summer or in nice, warm, dry autumn days - the ledges are on the north side.
The path is passable with increased caution. Where there are protections some pegs are pulled out, but not essential. The path is exposed, so attention is necessary. I felt uneasy because of the orange-colored rocks showing fairly fresh rockfalls. Probably the path is visited by only a few dozen people per year.

Summer in the mountains is almost over, birds have mostly fallen silent. But under the southern slopes of Pihavec marmots made a real racket. Yeah what do I want???

Only later did I notice that a golden eagle flew very low over us.

There are paths you return to. In silence. Actually there wasn't excessive silence, because sounds of planes and helicopter were heard. The latter circled for quite a while. At 7 am when we started walking the parking in Zadnjica was packed. But on the mulatjera no crowds at all. Every now and then some mountaineer. Mostly foreigners. The snow at the entry to the ledges is gone and also along the path no more. It was quite cold on some parts of the path. When higher towards the saddle we visited Vodnikov Vršac. Then to Prehodavci, where there were quite a few hikers. And over saddle Dol back to Zadnjica.

darinka4, are the markings on the path well visible? I plan to go from Prehodavci to Dolič? Thanks

Markings are visible. Only one chain is in bad condition. But no problems because of that. Somewhat loose.

Classic for Triglav these days when weather is nice. Interesting that the hiker with whom we went was 40 years ago on these shelves and wanted to go. On Vršac first time. Everyone decides their own way.

Hiked the path on 19.8., start from Zadnjica, over Komar and on the MMD path to Vodnikov vršac and then to Prehodavci. The path is entirely dry, except at the start where one needs to cross a larger snowfield, sorry, no pic of the whole snowfield. Otherwise beautiful uncrowded path, great valley views.

Hi. Yesterday 3.9. hiked Zadnjica-Komar-Dolič-Mira Marko Debelak-Prehodavci-Hribarice-Dolič. For the Dolič-Mira Marko Debelak-Prehodavci section 2h30min, normal pace with pics and breaks. Path dry and passable, at the end at scree exit small rockfall, nicely bypassed on the upper side. Supernasmeh
