I was on Kanjavec one month ago, took me under 2 hrs from Prehodavci to summit, with lots of pics in between; last week from Dolič to Kanjavec, that route 1.5 hrs to top.. depends on pace of course, I went slow and enjoying

Hi! Is there a stamp at the top of Kanjavec?

Yes, there is It's located a bit lower than the summit log box, red arrows point you towards it

Thanks a lot, Mary! We're planning a 10-day vacation in the mountains, since some days are quite full we wouldn't want to walk an extra hour just for the stamp.

Various interesting stamps can be obtained in bookstores too, so you really don't need to go to the mountains for 10 days for that. Turn a page back and see what all Kanjavec offers, not just the stamp.

Dear all, does anyone know if there's any snow on the way to Kanjavec? Thanks in advance for the reply and best regards.

Snow, if there's any left somewhere by chance (I doubt it) shouldn't be a problem..

On Kanjavec there's too little snow for skiing, if that's what you meant perhaps. But take winter gear with you anyway, you never know when it might come in handy.

Thanks everyone for the responsiveness. @turbo: No, I didn't mean skiing Flora1 in her post (22.7.), where she describes her trip from July 2006(!), mentioned some snowfield under Vršaki, crossing which was allegedly (was) dangerous ... And no one answered robija14's question specifically, so I asked about snow myself. @megla: A picture=1000 words.

@mobifakindik: Via the Sedmera jezera thread, user @MartinaP replied to me in PM and told me that a month ago on the way to Kanjavec there were still some snow patches, but they didn't pose any special danger... I'm setting off from Pl. Blato via Za Kopico valley to the summit and back via 7J valley on Saturday, but just in case I'll take my ice axe too... Best,

Ice axe For Za Kopico and 7J, take ice axe with you

whipped cream strudel... maybe Robi14 is geologist and will chop some rocks... just a thought so we won't be too surprised...

I apologize, but such sarcasm is really not appropriate. The snowfield under Vršaki on the passage from Za Kopico valley to Hribarice can be quite annoying and dangerous - if it lasts late into summer of course. Safe steps...

There is no snowfield that is annoying and dangerous. Dangerous is only the person who doesn't know how to tackle it properly (equipment, experience) or tackles the snowfield when there's high avalanche danger. Otherwise, if someone walks Za Kopico and 7J valley with ice axe, for God's sake don't forget the helmet!

@Daam and @Turbo: whether I take ice axe with me is entirely my decision, since I'll carry it myself... Given that crossing the snowfield under Vršaki was mentioned several times and the possibility it's still there, I decided to take it, with helmet of course... Instead of being so sarcastic, you could have answered my first post, where I asked if there's any other snowfield on the path? Given the weather, no snowfields to expect on the path anymore...
