This weekend for winter beauties on Komna.
Parking at Savica nicely cleared, road to it also nicely "plowed". There two things surprised me - no parking fee collected nasmeh

Path nicely trodden, higher up more like a gully where without snowshoes you can't do much. Crampons don't hurt for descent.
In hut pleasant as usual. Young staff diligent but we missed Mateja anyway. Evening Mrs. Fox even came visiting to the terrace. Not scared at all...
Next day coffee at "neighbors" - hut under Bogatin. That was nicest part of weekend. Views every step, beauties calling for photos. Nicely snow-covered (ca 1.5m) and heavenly blue. nasmeh

This year too met tons of hikers on return. We really are a hiking nation...

Ha, Boštjan, didn't meet any vixens, but in the upper part of Gracija stumbled on day-old tracks of a young bear heading to Lanževice.

Probably missed one, soon overtook two girls, then two guys and a couple just below the hut. Trail to the hut nicely trodden, crampons, gaiters and other gear not needed. Nothing from trees fell, morning cold. New warden served me tea, but why he closed access from courtyard to terrace? Weather fantastic, thought of a walk at least to Bogatin Gates, but without snowshoes or skis not doable for me, turned before last pitch. Komna paradise for skiers, saw quite a few ski tracks. Surprised by the openness of the hut under Bogatin, where I also stopped for tea. Because of my knees, on descent walked all switchbacks despite many sliding shortcuts. Below all closed, to Ukanc enjoyed drive on new dry asphalt nasmeh

Passage to Dom na Komni terrace maybe closed due to huge icicles from roof.

Regarding overhanging icicles really didn't think. More meant emergency exit. You know that; Micka Kovačeva, drank, paid nothing... mežikanje

Tracks about half my shoe size. Walked parallel for a while to photo them, didn't occur to me. zmeden

To the Dom na Komni you definitely don't need snowshoes, lots of people go up and it's trampled, also to the hut under Bogatin not, it's open until end of March, the warden said so, I was up a week ago. But probably over time, due to many hikers, some parts will become compact and slippery and small crampons will be suitable for less stable hikers

On Sunday we headed to Komna, to the hut under Bogatin. The path is snowy, trodden, of course no need for snowshoes, snow is dry, not icy, but still we can use crampons, or not. We expected sun at the hut, unfortunately not, cloudy. Otherwise very pleasant walk, no wind. Short stop at the hut under Bogatin, tea and strudel. This time we just waved at Komna. We hope next time the sun will warm and we stay longer also at Herman's...We saw some chamois.

Yesterday was a wonderful day to visit Komna. Parking lot already quite full before 9 am, no parking fees collected. Lots of people on the trail. Warm, sunny day, only higher up at Lepa Komna a bit windy.

Initial part of the path dry and nice, soon snow starts, but not much. Almost no ice. Morning walk pleasant, snow firm, on return and especially on sunny slopes, softened snow.

Hut under Bogatin very visited. The warden says it's open for the first time this year also in winter season. Will close end of March, maybe open until Easter, they'll see. Then break until June 20.

From the hut a bit further towards Lepa Komna, which in winter really lives up to its name. Wonderful views. Lower Bohinj mountains snow-covered, anyway Komna is always beautiful. nasmeh

Yesterday again to Komna. Wonderful day, sunny, no wind. Very few visitors, no parking fees yet. Hut under Bogatin still open. Noticeably less snow than 3 weeks ago, but still winter atmosphere. Path dry almost to the 48th serpentine, also longer dry sections further. Snow hard, bears weight even off path. nasmeh
