Higher up, it's a winter fairy tale, natural decorations you can't look at enough.

Hi, does anyone happen to have any info if the path to Rinke (Carinthian, Styrian, Carniolan) from Jezersko is snow-free? I know there's a snowfield before entering the Slovenian path, but I'm curious about higher up.

Thanks

Yesterday I was on Križ. The trail has been dry for a while. Some bolts by the cables are pulled out but nothing problematic.

Yesterday visited Koroška Rinka (Križ) and Kranjska Rinka from Ledin direction. To Ledin via Slovenska route, which is very well marked and secured, went in pitch darkness (no moon) and no problems. At Kranjska hut on Ledin there is a sign that the path to Koroška Rinka is not maintained and visit at own risk. This explains a lot, the path is in poor condition, especially below summit (torn cables, uprooted pitons, etc...). Lots of scree deposits on the path so great caution needed on this path (ascent and descent), also not to dislodge stones. Otherwise very interesting path, for those with some experience and no vertigo.

You can watch a short video HERE

P.S.: not too many annoying insects on the path, so you can enjoy the silence nasmeh

Really a pity, for such a nice path, that it's not repaired

on Wednesday to Ledin via Slovenska, then to Križ. I don't understand what the problem is, the path is impeccable.

Yesterday 09.09.2018 to Koroška Rinka from Ravenska koča. Start just after 5am, via Slovenska to Ledin and on to Koroška Rinka. Path completely without issues, those two pulled pitons holding the anchor no problem (see pic 12). Just below summit at vertical climb full of scree and really need to tread carefully as stones dislodge easily. Someone was lucky a small stone hit his hand. At summit good company, nice views and very warm. Return via climbing route back. Then detour to Ledinski vrh, then via Lovska back to valley.

Is it passable without crampons and ice axe from the area via ferrata?

20.10.2019 For this time of year still quite a warm morning we start at Koča pod slapom Rinka. Views to peaks not promising at all, windy, foggy. First stop at waterfall, then at Savinja source where we got water, visit to Frischaufov dom, then to Savinjsko sedlo and shortly after turnoff to Mrzla gora right we turned left to Rinka. Interesting path, climb up down up, reach window through which fog hides everything, continue climbing – ascending to top of Koroška Rinka - Križ. In dense fog sharp wind descent between Kranjska and Štajerska Rinka to path from Turski žleb to Skuta, then beside dense fog hurricane wind jump to Turska gora, return descent Turski žleb, stop at monument, descent bad shepherd path to parking. Upper Turski žleb crumbly scree now equipped west wall with cable, advise against shepherd path. Photos: http://www.pdmaticams-drustvo.si/

On Saturday (02.02.2020) we climbed via Žmavčarje to Koroška Rinka and little sister -> Malo Rinka. Start V Koncu. Path through Žmavčarje suitable for conditions. Good part bad snow sinking to knees. To bivouac no issues except cloud reducing visibility. At bivouac under Skuta wind picked up but mild. Around 2100m view to Rinke and Skuta opened windy as expected :P Snow to last slope before summit ideal! Last 50m to top bad snow sinking - few meters below ice but easy cross. No avalanche risk on either side, path to summit fine. Ideal Saturday! velik nasmeh
