Because to have such a helicopter they would need to professionalize GRS, which many don't want. Although that's not the only reason, it all ends up with finances. For the state or those deciding, the enthusiasm and self-sacrifice of individuals (GRS in this case) is by far the cheapest choice.

The mountain rescue team does truly selfless and sometimes superhuman work. And so modest too. Respected rescuers and all in the rescue team - all praise for your invaluable work.
To Dejan strength and luck to recover and return where he feels good.
Last year I sent SMS to a mountain rescuer from Očak, he replied jokingly: if you break your leg, we'll come with heli. And in less than an hour they really flew to the very top because a female hiker hurt her shoulder.

Everything starts and ends with finances. SV air technicians excellently perform their work maintaining the Bell 412 helicopter, pilots are trained for such feats be it firefighting. Guys, every time hats off to you.

Velesa, we missed you too, your interesting posts and experiences. The last I remember was the ascent through Mišeljska dolina to Hribarice a few years ago. Right? Write to us again about your paths. Your visits to Čistega vrha made me nostalgic and impressed me so I had to go up. And really it was an unforgettable trip!

I read the post in Sl.novicah that tslok1 attached, and must say it squeezes the chest when reading about the heroism of mountain rescuers.
I also attach one in their honor from the Triglav summit (last fall they rescued from there). Even then on the top, besides some "witty" remarks, mainly one felt great admiration and respect for these people.

Yes, ločanka, I think that was really the last post, but not the last tour :-). I have still been in that wonderful corner and elsewhere - just lazy for posting. I'm glad I encouraged you to visit Trentarske samote.

Another nice trip. Some pics to make your mouth water, conditions will anyway be completely different by tomorrow afternoon.
In short: descent was quite okay, not so much ice on the path anymore, though crampons come in handy in some places.
Please convince me that you can't see the sea from the path to Kredarica. I've looked that way many times, think I even saw ships today.

Like many, I too constantly followed Redbull's incredible feats and thought about them later, thinking that with his high fitness, daring, knowledge and courage, a big dose of luck is also key. It didn't abandon him even in the fall, letting him survive. We probably choose our fate long ago in the spiritual world and just follow it here.
