Today to Kredarica for a change from Vrata behind Cmir.
The road is drivable to Turk's gallery, further on there's still snow. With skis it went nicely to Peklo, then a bit harder under Begunjski vrh, where new snow milled under the skis. Similar in the traverse under Rž to Kredarica.

Skiing back was great to the last screes above the forest, where the snow became south-facing all the way down.

You can still ski a bit through the forest and then carry skis for about 15 minutes. But it will get worse every day. nasmeh

Great Franci!
It was also mushy for me there at Srenjski preval with skis, for the return I went with crampons.
Some snow is coming too, according to Austrian now detailed forecasts (Osterreich alpenverein wetterdienst) for Julijske Alpe and Karavanke (on their site on the right side), up to 30 cm new.

Otherwise, below was frozen snow with breaking crust, higher to Peklo firmer base with some new snow. Above Peklo snow still unprocessed and mushy. Noticed tracks from a few days ago, someone walked without snowshoes. But it will be different tomorrow. nasmeh

Hi! Which trail/path is the safest for tomorrow's ascent to the Kredarica hut? Or are all trails highly prone to avalanches?

Tomorrow we'd go to the hut and we're interested.

Swen11: It would be good to call the meteorologists at Kredarica to see if anyone went up at all today (but the camera didn't show new tracks after the new snowfall). If so, they know the situation on Kalvarija, which is the most avalanche-exposed part of the path from Krma to Kredarica. I'd stay at home in your place and postpone the tour to Kredarica for, say, next weekend. Best regards and good luck .... mežikanje

Kredarica yesterday:

Snow at the hut 220cm.

On the return there was strong sinking/postholing, so I recommend snowshoes.

Beautiful views and weather. nasmeh

Snowshoes mandatory (at least for Sunday)

Just this one is missing, already at home I don't dare walk without worry because of these furries. Really hope it's a dog, cause if not I'm already scared where I'll meet bear mom who'll slowly tear me apart due to fear for cubs like my neighbor many years ago. eek
