Mailman, from pl. Zapleč I haven't managed to connect the path from Krnčica to Krn yet, from Lopatnik to Vršič the views were boundless on 28.10.2014.

Last two days we sweated in the Krn Mountains.
Started at Savica, Komna, Bogatin Saddle, Krn Lake and to Krn. Next day over Batognica, Peak above the Sands, Prehodci, Za Lepočami, back to Bogatin Saddle and to the car at Savica.
Very hot in the mountains too zadrega

Thanks! We with all stops, photographing, even searching for flowers, from Savica to Krn summit walked over 9 hours.
Back over 8 hours. If you're going these days take enough drinks with you.

After sleeping in the hut at Krn Lakes today first to Peak above the Sands. Path easy, a bit below the summit maybe a bit crumbly. From the summit descend towards Vrh Peskov and then from the summit to the foot of Mali Peski. From there to the monument and then to the top of Mali Peski (regretted not traversing them fully). Last part below summit quite steep and crumbly. Then along the ridge to the notch between Mali Peski and Škofič and further past Lužniški Lake to the saddle. Slightly descend and left traverse scree to steep grass where I climb to Škofič ridge and from there a bit to the summit. Since the grasses were very steep and still wet after summit for return I choose variant along ridge to foot of Rdeči Rob and there down the path. Returned via Lužnica valley where I detoured to Srednji Vrh. Then past Praga and Krn Lake to Lepena. It was very hot today and thus ran out of liquid so I was really dreaming of that radler at the hut. Just praise the team at the Krn Lakes hut, they are very friendly and food is very tasty too.

Yesterday's wonderful day had to be used for a more serious tour. At 7.30 start and to planina Kuhinja, very few cars yet. Parking lot closed as they are renovating and expanding access. Just after 10.00 on Krn summit, relaxed walk with photo stops, from first sun contact in short-sleeved t-shirt, because hot as hell. That was the only 'minus' of yesterday's hike. nasmeh

Since I wanted more walking I went to Batognica and Peski and to the lake in Lužnica. Super walk! Then descent to planina Pretovč. The mentioned descent tired me a bit and properly roughed up my legs and especially ankles. You can see I haven't been in high mountains for a while, hehe. velik nasmeh

Well, legs are completely OK today anyway! Plenty of hikers, all paths and peaks teeming with increased visitors. Upon arrival at the car the improvised parking was filled to the last corner, Italians, Austrians, as for Slovenian plates almost none missing.

Weather was wonderful and just inviting for a Sunday walk. cool

Notice: parking at pl. Kuhinja under renovation and road closed (parking arranged a bit lower on the left (from Krn village).

Far from it, but we had a slower pace than usual so I wrote walk and added "smiley"...

In dry conditions and good weather it has no major technical difficulty, but conditions next week will probably be different (if snow falls)...

Today's Sunday was perfect for visiting the mountains. Strong wind cleared the air so visibility was great nasmeh

From Planina Kuhinja over Krnska Škrbina to Batognica and on through Lužnica Valley to Planina Leskovca, then back to start. Trail without issues, but new fixed cables on the Batognica summit route are praiseworthy. On Krn summit they put up a big antenna zmeden

, what it's for I can only guess. Lots of visitors, as expected for such a day nasmeh

@Tolminc, last week there was no antenna yet. Maybe some radio amateur put it up temporarily for a contest.

Yesterday nice circular tour over Planina Kuhinja to Krn then to Krnska Škrbina and Batognica, then towards Prag and descent to the lake in Lužnica. From there back to start. Trail without issues, offering superb views. Lots of visitors. Nice regards

Today to Krn from Planina Kuhinja. Descent via Lužnica Valley. No crowds, no issues on the trail nasmeh

Again to the nice area for sunset, did a circular tour past the lake in Lužnica. Before that to Maselnik and after descent to lake continue along ridge to Srednji Vrh. Then to Batognica and Krn. Mixed conditions, definitely winter gear needed. Waited for sunset on Krn, TOP nasmeh

during the descent it was still quite hot, TOP....!!!!

Today from Planina Kuhinja over Krnska Škrbina and below Batognica to Prag, from there to Vrh nad Peski. Descent via Lužnica valley. No issues on trail, huge number of hikers nasmeh

A bit late posting visit to Krn neighborhood. Nothing new on trail, but from the beauties seen and experienced I always return to these exceptionally nice areas. Safe trails nasmeh
