Many of these roads that are now being charged for were built and maintained for decades from taxpayer money. If decision-makers read some post that turbo writes, then there's still hope that things will be reasonably arranged for the benefit of all involved.

The direct path from Planina Kuhinja is dry, there is still some snow between the shelter and the summit, which can be bypassed. On the other side, it is still winter.

Just for info, does anyone know if parking at some trailhead is still free depends on who owns the land? E.g. parking in front of the hut in Lepena is owned by the mountaineering club, as I saw on the geodetic administration site. On the other hand, parking at Planina Kuhinja is owned by the municipality. So probably mountaineering clubs have no interest in charging hikers for parking, municipalities do.
Of course in Lepena too the municipality can put a barrier on the road to the hut in Lepena, instead of a parking meter at the parking lot itself and we're the same as at Kuhinja

Further from Krn Lake towards Krn it looked quite snowy on 2.6. This is shot from Krn summit towards the lake (went up from Kuhinja where it's all clear).
