jprim,
why would I criticize you. You are happy with high parking fees and gladly pay them, as can be seen from your writings, and mistakenly think that abroad you also pay, and expensively. Not true, in the last at least ten years in the Carnic Alps I haven't paid a cent for parking. Not in Sappada, not in Sauris, not in Forni Avoltri, more known places, not elsewhere. For 10€ under Krn or 14€ or whatever for Blato, in the co-op (Friuli), I'd rather buy cheese, salami, polenta, etc., etc., I get something for that money, homemade, from nearby place and pasture. And they are glad about me, especially when I try with some Friulian word, often then we chat about this and that and so I better know those places. How hospitality is in our upper Sava valley and even more in Bohinj corners, during high season of course, I'd rather not. Not always, of course, too often though. Last Sunday all day on bike in Humin area. Parking in old core free all day, same below at train station. After tour in one quite visited pastry shop, quite full, nice day anyway. Radler 3dl, espresso and small toast 4.70€. Four euros seventy. More than half less than just parking under Krn. Still 5€ left for local cheese. No problem in paying parking, problem is insanely high prices of it.
