I notice that for quite some time an individual appears who gives only one star regardless of picture quality. Then it's hard to raise the average to ten.
Also from my side, congrats to Igor, as he's always at the right place at the right time, and delights us with nice pictures and posts even when the rest observe mountains mostly from the valley. Real mountain lad. Keep going.

Pictures with valley fog are super anyway.
No need to stress about picture ratings. Some rate by view beauty from peaks, others by tour difficulty, a third by author they like or not. Best to abolish rating as it brings no objective score. zmeden

andrej78 - just this I'd add to your last sentence about the snow, and I won't agree with you that some were scaring unjustly. I think they were completely justified in scaring. True, there isn't much snow, but on the northern sides there is just enough that there's neither stick nor mouse, and that's the most DANGEROUS - as Igor wrote

Igor, thanks for the info! Today I planned to visit Mangart up the Slovenian side and down the Italian, but they advised against it due to conditions. Thank you for sharing nice photos with us and making us crave nasmeh

Yesterday I was on Kriške podi "Vršič - Razor - Pogačnikov dom and back to Vršič" and it was a great view from Razor to Mangart and Jalovec. In short, paradise above the clouds!

22.09.2012 were on Mangart via Italian. Some small icy patches by cables, in middle flat part some snow, with a bit more caution think ascent not so dangerous. But reached top also via SLO path.
Weather - to saddle fog and cold wind, further sun and warm.

Any snow patches left? If yes, interested if on tricky/dangerous spots?

Do you know what the weather was like the last few days? Do you think someone goes to Mangart in the rain!?
Anyway, there's no snow, and the weather won't be the best for a Mangart visit tomorrow either mežikanje

I went in summer for a sunny sunrise; on the ascent it was like a slide, the cables were very useful, I avoided smooth or wet rocks from dew as much as possible, for the descent I waited until the rocks dried. Be careful.

Today up Slovenian to Mangart, down Italian. Conditions ideal, rock dry, fixed gear in good shape. Helmet mandatory, as some sections quite loose. Views wonderful. Nice regards.
