-red white * hiking trail
can have various additions (1,ppp,..) path signs
-red white with green border * international hiking trail
-blue yellow * via ferrata path

don't remember other signs now

sporty, look from the other side. Someone wants to buy a piece of mountaineering clothing for hard-saved 200 or 300 eur, say a jacket. What do you think, when will he be more satisfied - if he buys a crappy jacket that will fall apart after half a year of normal use or if he spends 30eur more and buys a quality jacket that will serve him for several years? If I look only at my closet - 10 year old Millet windstopper, like new; 5 year old Mammut Stratus jacket, like new. Spar windstopper sleeveless for 15 eur, 6 years old - like new. I wear all listed pieces of clothing daily - for work, in crags, etc. Quality gear can still be found, you just need to know what to buy. Just look at Quechua tents, which are really cheap - approx 80 eur for 3 people + vestibule, and it hasn't soaked me in 3 years.

It's not all black and white and we don't write here intending to unjustly discredit some brand, but we write to offer potential new buyers info on the quality of individual producers. And something about your research work and our relations to people - based on the above, I'd dare say we try to help and advise them.

P.S. It would be nice to hear your name too, since you already accuse us of anonymity and fear of public exposure.

The story of my friend. I'm sending it for awareness of what's happening on our market and it seems
right to me that people find out...

There's a Maya Maya store in Bled. All year they advertise on the radio that they're CLEARING STOCKS !!!!
Whoever doesn't know yet, let me tell you, they sew and make everything in CHINA!!!

With this store I have totally bad experiences and tons of bad info from others too.
In the fall I bought a complete hardshell+softshell set. Everything tears, seams unglued, they repair
3-4 weeks ... For the set I paid more than 500 EUR!

But a few weeks ago, when I got the jacket back from repair for the second time, in the bag I got from the store, I found sheets or price lists for this season. But these sheets had one feature -
obviously for internal use, as it's some Excel table with all
purchase prices, transport costs, margins... You can't believe how they rip us off.

Purchase price for my jackets was:
- Balam Jacket 40.52 EUR (selling 249 EUR)
- Alkamin Jacket 53.08 EUR (selling 347 EUR)

Compared to the selling price of both jackets they have over 500% margin!!!!!!!

I was thinking about gloves too, since they have some sale now, but when I saw purchase prices,
it passed me. (purchase 8.85 EUR, selling was over 60 EUR).

Maya Maya stores won't see me ever again!

Nothing new.Margins are everywhere in the material world,so that intermediaries survive too (parent company, importers, deliverers, accountants, retailers, state). That's how it is,that's why I tell you,if you already buy, then at least buy good stuff, which as a buyer you can choose from what's offered in the store. For ex.I know a big optician in Ljubljana and he says that purchase price of glasses in Italy(fairs)is only 10-15% of selling price in Slovenia and from reputable firms, bulk purchase of course. For food go to the farmer what you can get there, instead of Mercator,to be healthier.
I strongly agree with what Igor said before, that especially in today's recession it's very important that money circulates constantly. That way factories and trade can function normally, everyone mutually happy with their incomes.Because economy is declining in Slovenia, now people don't have so much to spend in stores.Lp

Margins are thievish, everything comes from China anyway.
When I was touring Adidas factory in Germany they took us to the factory outlet at the end, where we didn't find even one shoe made in Germany.

So what are we actually paying for? Brand and retailers' greed.jezen

Armani too is made in China, as my neighbor told me, who has container supply (baby strollers, scooters) with his store from there. On one side of the road is real Armani production, right across the road they sew the exact same duplicate. So for a fake leather jacket (same material, just no brand) he paid less than 150€, instead of the original for 1500€.velik nasmeh

Yes, that's the problem. We buyers never know on which side of the road it was made, sellers do though and some exploit our ignorance. How should we know if they paid 10,000 or 100,000 USD for the container of goods, and milked 200,000 from us in the end?

Dear Heinz

That's why I asked what the markings are like so I wouldn't maybe fall into something. With Maya Maya I have no experience. But we people are to blame ourselves because we must have > brand < and they nicely exploit that! I see you've already hiked quite a bit with your friend, nice pics. I wish you many more joint paths. Hello, history of the company marketing the Maya Maya brand led by Gregor Garbajs with his wife started long ago under the Mediteranian Motion brand - mostly sewn at home, some in Croatia, a bit in Hungary and some in Bosnia; as market issues sharpened, more intensively they sought ways to cut costs - in parallel quality unfortunately dropped drastically. Meanwhile the company from ITU d.o.o. was renamed to
Terra futura d.o.o. (why? ) - one wonders how the owner allows such devaluation of his own brand and yet I sympathize
with all those who got badly burned there. Shops in Switzerland??? come on...

Is there any Maya Maya stores left in Slovenia? Yesterday I looked for it in Ljubljana and they say it's gone. Does anyone know?
