PD Jesenice informs...
PZS awards the “Family-friendly mountain hut” certificate every year and this year we also entered our Erjavčeva hut on Vršič for it. We decided to try to meet the criteria for children up to 3 years old. So now we're starting a collection of equipment (changing table, portable crib, suitable seats for that age, cutlery...), games for children (toys, picture books, coloring books, crayons..), playgrounds around the house (sandbox, maybe a playhouse, swing...). If you have any of the above and don't need it anymore (or it's in the way), we'll gladly accept it. Any help welcome.
Call the club or email and we'll arrange pickup. Please share the notice. Many thanks and best mountain greetings.

That day I visited Vrtača for the first time in beautiful weather. On the way I stopped at the hut at the source of Završnica. To satisfy my hunger, I ordered jota and was very disappointed. Little cabbage, three beans and sour water. Sad. Do not recommend.

fresh, of course subjective, eating impressions from the last 10 days: spoiled jota and ričet soup although they sell it as ričet in Roblekov dom on Begunjščica; great corn žganci with sour milk at Korošica mountain pasture under Baba; tasty minestrone in Mangartska koča under Mangart; tko tko soup in Blejska koča on Lipanec...

The road to the last parking lot is constantly plowed in winter and free. Both huts are also open.

Not exactly a mountain hut, but many hikers go there.
Hotel center Pokljuka - catastrophic service, after half an hour of ignoring by both waitresses I left elsewhere.

Mountaineering Association Jesenice announces that Erjavčeva hut on Vršič is OPEN on Saturdays and Sundays. From 25.12.2015 to 06.01.2016 it will be open CONTINUOUSLY, then again on Saturdays and Sundays. Cordially invited! GOOD LUCK!
