Anyone going soon to Mrzla gora via Hudi prask? Would join someone, mainly for orientation – psychophysical readiness and experience are there. velik nasmeh

By no means was my intention to underestimate Mrzla gora (or any mountain) or send up people not prepared for it, but just to give a subjective assessment. Absolutely, it's still a very demanding ascent, just maybe not quite so much as one reads in books and here on the forum. Relatively good rock, lots of holds, markings, short. In nice weather a pleasure, for the properly prepared of course. Hudi prask is definitely more suitable (conditionally speaking) for ascent than descent.

On Tuesday my son and I are also going to Mrzla gora... when I go alone there's no problem, but when you have a boy with you for whom you're responsible, Mrzla gora gets a completely different difficulty level!

What's the condition of the path from Matkov kot? Has anyone been there in the last few days?

Yesterday to Mrzla gora from Ravenska kočna, then also to Koroška rinko via Mrzli dol, and across Ledine to the car.
At the top we met two who came from Matkov kot and they say the path is bp, except gravel underfoot :/

On Sunday it was a really nice day. I arrived already on Saturday and slept at Kranjska koča. New caretakers couple. They even have unfiltered beer, if anyone wants. Mrzla gora was well visited.

Yesterday I was drawn to this hill again. Excellent weather conditions. On the road to KB still without cyclists, parking at Jermanci almost empty. Path to the hut entirely in shade. I greet caretakers Simon and Jerca and back into shade towards Okrešlj. In front of the hut already quite a few tourists with martinček, but I head towards Savinjsko sedlo along the path of freshly pruned brush. Just before the junction to MG there's still some snow above the path, where I filled my snežnice on the way back. In pleasant temperature, it was really enjoyable scrambling on compact rock. Altogether I overtook four hikers with the same goal. On the way back at Jerca's a heaping portion of beans, so I barely rolled to the car.

Hello. I've been planning the ascent to this magnificent mountain for a while now. Despite all the feats and hiked paths (Mala Mojstrovka via Hanzova, Mangart via Slovenska, Triglav-Tominšekova and Plemenice, Skuta-Turski žleb up and down, Ojstrica via Kopinškova and many more times elsewhere, some of the most technically and physically demanding paths so far for me), I still have a special awe for this mountain. Is it justified? I'm postponing the visit, but it pulls me strongly. What do you think, those who have been up there? Thanks for the reply. val.

If you went via Plemenice, then scrambling up Mrzla gora will be a pleasure for you. It's quite a bit shorter overall.

Go bravely, Val! You didn't say why you have such respect for that mountain. Because it's called "Mrzla", because the last 20 min. is along the border? No worries. No border guards for yearsvelik nasmeh. Since you're planning to go there on Saturday, take a helmet, because there'll be more hikers than during the week, and poles, which you leave at the first bolt. The rock is compact and offers real pleasure, of course, due to the steepness it requires full caution.
Go early and report!nasmeh
Good luck.

Everything they wrote about the path to Mrzla gora holds, only that about leaving the poles at the first peg, I no longer follow in our mountains. Not at the first peg, not in the first bushes, I fold them nicely and put them in the backpack. We know why, unfortunately zavijanje z očmi

Yes turbo, I folded them into the backpack and carried them to the top. They weren't heavy. Just last time when I went to Škrlatica, I left them under the wall. Others did too. And the sleeping bag. I didn't feel like carrying it up. Everything stayed in place.
